The QSC AD-S8T is a transformer-equipped 8-inch surface-mount loudspeaker (sold individually) for 70V/100V distributed audio or 8-ohm operation. Part of the AcousticDesign Series, it targets foreground and background reinforcement in larger commercial rooms, houses of worship, and transportation and education facilities.

Supplied with the X-Mount system and fitted with M10 suspension points, the AD-S8T delivers even 105° conical coverage via QSC's DMT waveguide and offers IP54 weather resistance for indoor or covered outdoor installation.

Product Description

The AD-S8T pairs an 8-inch weather-treated paper-cone woofer (2-inch voice coil) with a 1-inch-exit, 1.4-inch compression driver on a DMT waveguide, covering 55 Hz to 20 kHz (-10 dB) with 90 dB sensitivity and a 119 dB peak SPL. It handles 200W RMS and is best driven by roughly 400W of amplifier power.

A 60W low-loss transformer provides 70V taps (60/30/15/7.5W) and 100V taps (60/30/15W) plus an 8-ohm bypass, selected on a weather-grommeted rear rotary control. M10 fittings accept the AD-YMS8 yoke mount or M10 Kit-C shoulder eyebolts for suspended or flown deployments, and a 4-pole Euroblock with loop-thru wiring sits beneath a sealed cover.

The rugged ABS enclosure and powder-coated aluminum grille exceed IP54 for dust and splash resistance. QSC Intrinsic Correction voicings are available through Q-SYS processing or CXD/CX-Q amplifiers. For suspended installs, pair with the QSC AD-YMS8 yoke mount.
