Product Overview

The QSC AD-C8T-ZB-WH is an 8-inch commercial ceiling speaker built for high-fidelity distributed audio in conference rooms, boardrooms, and other commercial AV spaces. This two-way zero-bezel ceiling loudspeaker combines an 8-inch woofer with a coaxial compression driver and an integrated 70/100V transformer, so it deploys on constant-voltage distributed lines or via 8-ohm bypass. The blind-mount design installs flush with the ceiling without plenum access, and Q-SYS Intrinsic Correction adds speaker-specific DSP tuning when paired with a Q-SYS system. Sold as a single speaker in RAL 9010 white.

Product Description

QSC AD-C8T-ZB-WH 8-inch zero-bezel commercial ceiling speaker in white

The AD-C8T-ZB-WH is a large-format member of the QSC AcousticDesign Series, intended for installations that need more low-frequency extension and output than 4.5-inch or 6.5-inch models can deliver. The 8-inch woofer uses a 2.0-inch voice coil on a ferrite motor and is rated for 200 W continuous at 8 ohms (400 W rated power), with 70V taps at 25, 50, 100, and 200 W and 100V taps at 50, 100, and 200 W. The coaxial compression driver shares the woofer axis, placing the high-frequency source at the same point as the low-frequency driver to improve off-axis response across the 90-degree conical pattern set by the DMT waveguide. System bandwidth reaches down to 58 Hz (-10 dB), supporting full-range distributed audio without a dedicated subwoofer in moderate-SPL zones, while sensitivity of 92.5 dB (1 W/1 m) keeps amplifier power requirements low across a coverage area. Maximum SPL is 114 dB continuous and 126 dB peak. As a blind-mount ceiling speaker, the unit installs from below the ceiling using a 3x double-stepped dog-ear system and a 12-inch (305 mm) cutout, simplifying retrofit work in occupied buildings. A snap-fit magnetic grille, removable conduit cover plate, and 4-pin Euroblock input with parallel output streamline daisy-chain wiring across a zone. UL1480A and UL2043 ratings, plus an IP-44 ingress rating and NFPA 90A compliance, qualify the speaker for installation in plenum air-handling spaces. The zero-bezel grille integrates flush with the ceiling for architectural applications where visible speaker hardware is not acceptable, and Q-SYS Intrinsic Correction voicings (available through the Q-SYS Platform and CX-Q amplifiers) optimize frequency response and transient accuracy when the speaker is deployed in a Q-SYS system.

Key Features

  • 8-Inch Coaxial Two-Way Design — The 8-inch woofer and coaxial 1.5-inch compression driver share an axis for phase-accurate output and consistent off-axis response.
  • Zero-Bezel Grille — The bezel-less grille mounts flush with the ceiling for clean architectural integration without a visible flange.
  • 70/100V Transformer with 8-Ohm Bypass — Multi-tap transformer (up to 200 W) drives constant-voltage distributed lines, or bypasses to 8 ohms for low-impedance amplifiers.
  • Blind-Mount Installation — The 3x double-stepped dog-ear system installs the speaker from below the ceiling without plenum access, reducing retrofit labor.
  • DMT Waveguide — Directivity Matched Transition maintains a uniform 90-degree conical coverage pattern across the frequency range.
  • Q-SYS Intrinsic Correction — Speaker-specific DSP voicings are available through the Q-SYS Platform and CX-Q amplifiers for optimized tuning.
  • Plenum-Rated and UL Certified — UL1480A, UL2043, NFPA 90A, and IP-44 ratings qualify the speaker for air-handling spaces.
  • 92.5 dB Sensitivity — High efficiency lowers amplifier power demand across large coverage zones.

Typical Applications

  • Conference room — Full-range ceiling coverage for voice and presentation audio, with Q-SYS DSP optimization where applicable.
  • Boardroom — High-output ceiling audio with flush architectural integration for premium meeting spaces.
  • Commercial meeting space — High-SPL distributed ceiling audio across large open areas.
  • Training room — Even speech intelligibility for instruction and conferencing.
  • House of worship — Sanctuary ceiling fill with sufficient output for speech and program music.
  • Government space — Distributed audio for high-ceiling or acoustically demanding environments.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the AD-C8T-ZB-WH sold individually or as a pair?
This listing is for a single AD-C8T-ZB-WH speaker. QSC ships the model pair-packed at the carton level, so order quantity according to the number of individual speakers your design requires.
Do I need a Q-SYS system to use this speaker?
No. The AD-C8T-ZB-WH operates as a standard 70/100V or 8-ohm passive loudspeaker on any compatible amplifier. Q-SYS Intrinsic Correction is an additive benefit that applies speaker-specific DSP voicings when the speaker is deployed within a Q-SYS system using CX-Q amplifiers.
What cutout size and clearance does installation require?
The speaker requires a 12-inch (305 mm) diameter cutout. Overall dimensions are 13.5 x 13.5 x 13.75 in, so confirm adequate depth and clearance above the ceiling. The 3x double-stepped dog-ear blind-mount system installs the speaker from below without plenum access.
Can this speaker be installed in a plenum air-handling space?
Yes. The AD-C8T-ZB-WH carries UL1480A, UL2043, and NFPA 90A ratings and an IP-44 ingress rating, qualifying it for use in air-handling (plenum) spaces in accordance with applicable code.
How does it integrate with a distributed (70V/100V) AV system?
The integrated multi-tap transformer offers 70V taps of 25/50/100/200 W and 100V taps of 50/100/200 W. The 4-pin Euroblock connector with parallel output supports daisy-chain wiring across a distributed zone; select taps to balance SPL against available amplifier power.
What warranty and support are available?
The AD-C8T-ZB-WH carries QSC's limited manufacturer warranty (3 years on AcousticDesign loudspeakers). For integration, tap selection, or system design support, contact Creation Networks before specifying quantities.
