Product Overview
The QSC QIO-GP8x8 is a Q-SYS network GPIO expander that brings general-purpose input and output control onto the Q-SYS network. As a Q-SYS network GPIO expander, it lets a Core read sensors, switches, and contact closures and drive logic outputs to lighting, relays, and signage in conference rooms, boardrooms, and multi-purpose rooms over standard Ethernet. It is natively managed in Q-SYS Designer Software, making logic control a configurable part of AV system integration.
Product Description

The QIO-GP8x8 provides eight GPIO inputs configurable for 0–24 V analog input, digital input, or contact closure, plus eight GPIO outputs using open-collector drive (24 V, 0.2 A sink maximum) with pull-up to +3.3 V. This lets one expander both sense external conditions and trigger devices such as relays, indicators, and motorized hardware. Like the rest of the QIO platform, it connects to the Q-SYS network over standard gigabit Ethernet as a Q-LAN device and is powered by PoE or 24 VDC with daisy-chainable power and pass-through Ethernet. The compact chassis (1.59 x 4.25 x 5.5 in) can be surface-mounted under a table or on a wall, or rack-mounted with the optional QIO-RMK tray. Native integration into Q-SYS Designer Software means inputs and outputs are mapped within the same design that handles audio and control.
Key Features
- Eight Configurable GPIO Inputs — Each input is configurable for 0–24 V analog, digital input, or contact closure to read switches, sensors, and external systems.
- Eight GPIO Outputs — Open-collector outputs (24 V, 0.2 A sink maximum) with pull-up to +3.3 V drive relays, indicators, and logic-controlled devices.
- Native Q-SYS Integration — The expander appears in Q-SYS Designer Software, so logic control is configured alongside audio and other control in one design.
- Network-Distributed Control — GPIO runs over standard gigabit Ethernet as a Q-LAN device, placing logic I/O near the equipment it controls.
- Flexible Power — PoE or 24 VDC operation with daisy-chainable power and pass-through Ethernet.
- Compact Mounting — A small chassis supports under-table or on-wall surface mounting and an optional 19-inch rack tray.
Typical Applications
- Conference room and boardroom logic and device triggering
- Training rooms and multi-purpose rooms
- Government and commercial meeting spaces
