Product Overview

The PTZOptics IR Remote Control (PT-REMOTE) provides direct infrared control of PTZOptics SDI, HDMI, and IP PTZ videoconferencing cameras without requiring a network connection, software, or serial cabling. It supports pan, tilt, zoom, focus, and preset recall functions and is the standard handheld IR remote included with most PTZOptics PTZ cameras. This remote is a replacement or spare unit for operators who need an additional control point for PTZ cameras in conference rooms, houses of worship, and lecture hall installations.

Product Description

The PT-REMOTE operates via infrared signal and requires line-of-sight to the PTZ camera's IR receiver. It provides pan and tilt directional control, optical zoom adjustment, manual focus control, and access to preset positions stored in the camera. For operators who have already configured camera presets via the camera's web interface or control software, the IR remote provides a simple, no-software method of recalling those positions from the front of the room.

This remote also includes access to camera menu settings through the OSD (on-screen display) function, allowing operators to adjust image parameters directly from the remote without connecting a laptop or accessing the camera's IP interface. Camera address selection buttons allow one remote to address multiple cameras in the same room by switching between camera address IDs 1 through 4, matching the camera's DIP switch or menu address setting.

The PT-REMOTE is compatible with PTZOptics cameras that have an active IR receiver, including legacy SDI and HDMI models as well as current generation IP-connected PTZ cameras. It is not compatible with HuddleCamHD USB cameras, which use the HC-REMOTE. For installations where the original remote has been lost or an additional operator position is required, the PT-REMOTE is the correct replacement unit.
