The Middle Atlantic RSH4S2M is a 2U custom rackshelf from the RSH-4S series that mounts virtually any non-rackmount component in a standard 19" rack or enclosure without modification. Its steel face is custom cut to the front profile of the component you specify and finished in textured black powder coat. The 14" shelf depth handles mid-depth source devices while leaving rear clearance for cables and airflow. The shelf occupies two rack spaces and installs on standard EIA rack rails.

Equipment racks rarely hold only rackmount gear. Cable boxes, streaming media players, modems, network switches, and small signal processors all need a secure, presentable home in the rack, and the RSH4S2M provides one. As a custom rack shelf, its faceplate is precision cut around your specified component, so the device appears built into the rack rather than resting loose on a utility shelf. The textured black powder coat finish matches Middle Atlantic enclosures, blank panels, and vent panels for a uniform front-of-rack appearance in residential and commercial AV installations. The 2U height (3.5" of vertical rack space) suits the majority of consumer source components, while the 14" (M) shelf depth supports deeper devices than the shallower 11.5" RSH4S1S-style shelves in the same family. Because the component sits on a full shelf, there is no drilling, no adhesive mounting, and no modification to the equipment itself. Installation is the same as any standard rackmount component, securing to the rack rails with conventional rack screws.
