The Middle Atlantic MS-5.5 is a compact multi-shelf measuring 0.5 inches high by 5.5 inches deep, designed to mount small AV and control system components at the front or rear of any standard 19-inch rack. The pattern of holes and slots accommodates nearly any device mounting hole pattern and provides abundant cable tie-down points. Must be installed using 10-32 or 5mm rack screws into a threaded rackrail.

The MS-5.5 addresses the challenge of mounting small components that are not designed for standard rack installation. Control system processors, small media players, Wi-Fi access points, and similar compact devices often have their own mounting patterns that don't align with standard rack holes. The MS-5.5's array of holes and slots provides multiple fixing points that can match a wide variety of device mounting patterns, while the 5.5-inch depth accommodates devices of moderate size. At only 0.5 inches tall, the shelf takes up minimal vertical rack space. Despite their small profile, these shelves are noted for being surprisingly strong relative to their size. Multiple shelves can be used at different positions throughout the rack to create a distributed mounting system for small components. Installation requires 10-32 or 5mm rack screws threaded into a standard threaded rackrail.
