The kit includes insulating pads and shoulder washers that install between the rack feet and the floor surface. The BGR-ISO is the appropriate isolation accessory for BGR Series racks installed on conductive flooring in AV and broadcast environments.
Product Description
The BGR-ISO Floor Isolation Kit from Middle Atlantic Products is designed specifically for the BGR Series rack enclosure line, providing electrical isolation between the rack frame and conductive flooring materials. Conductive floors including raised access flooring, metal platforms, and certain concrete coatings can create unintended electrical connections between the rack enclosure and the building ground plane. These connections introduce ground loops that manifest as hum, buzz, and interference in audio and video systems installed within the rack. The BGR-ISO kit breaks these electrical pathways by inserting insulating pads and shoulder washers between the rack feet and the floor, while allowing the rack to maintain its full structural stability and weight capacity. The kit includes both the insulating pad material and the shoulder washers required for a complete isolation installation. Installation does not require modification to the BGR enclosure or the flooring. The BGR-ISO should be specified at the time of initial rack deployment, as retrofitting an isolation kit under a fully loaded rack is substantially more difficult than installing it during initial setup.
