What is the Magewell Pro Convert HDMI Plus Module?
The Magewell Pro Convert HDMI Plus Module is a hot-swappable Modator blade that encodes one HDMI source into a full-bandwidth NDI High Bandwidth stream. It accepts HDMI up to 4K with loop-through and encodes up to 2048×2160 or 1080p at up to 120 fps. Installed in a Modator 2U chassis, it lets integrators put ten HD encoders in two rack units with redundant power.
How does the Magewell Pro Convert HDMI Plus Module work?
The module installs in a Modator 2U slot and takes power and cooling from the chassis. Its HDMI 1.4 input accepts sources up to 4096×2160 30p (4:4:4) or 60p (4:2:0) with a custom EDID, and its HDMI output loops the signal to a local display. It encodes NDI High Bandwidth up to 2048×2160 at up to 120 fps with eight channels of embedded audio, at the native resolution or a custom one.
Each module has a Gigabit Ethernet port and USB-C configuration port, its own web interface, and registers with Magewell Control Hub for central management. Because modules are hot-swappable, one can be replaced without interrupting the rest of the chassis.
