What is the Magewell Pro Convert HDMI 4K Plus Module?
The Magewell Pro Convert HDMI 4K Plus Module is a hot-swappable Modator blade that encodes one HDMI source at up to 4K60 into a full-bandwidth NDI High Bandwidth stream. It carries the same encoding capability as Magewell's standalone Pro Convert HDMI 4K Plus in a module that installs in the Modator 2U chassis. It suits high-density AV-over-IP systems where many 4K sources need encoding in one rack with redundant power.
How does the Magewell Pro Convert HDMI 4K Plus Module work?
The module slides into a Modator 2U slot and takes power and cooling from the chassis. It accepts HDMI up to 4096×2160 60p with HDMI loop-through and encodes NDI High Bandwidth up to 4K60, or high frame rates at lower resolutions, with eight channels of embedded audio. Scaling, frame-rate conversion and EDID settings are configured per module.
Each module has its own network connection and web interface and is also managed through the chassis touchscreen and Magewell Control Hub, or through HTTP APIs. Because modules are hot-swappable, one can be replaced without interrupting the other channels in the chassis.
