What is Magewell Control Hub Basic?
Magewell Control Hub Basic is a perpetual license for Magewell's centralized device and stream management software, covering up to 20 Magewell IP devices and 5 stream conversion channels with up to 20 total outputs. It suits small streaming and AV-over-IP deployments that need central control and protocol conversion.
How does Magewell Control Hub Basic work?
Control Hub runs as a Docker container on the customer's server or public cloud; Linux is recommended, and Windows and macOS are supported. Magewell encoders, decoders and converters register with it for remote configuration, monitoring and firmware management. Its stream conversion engine converts between RTMP, SRT (caller or listener), RTSP and transport streams over UDP or RTP, so one encoder feed can be reformatted and sent to several destinations.
