What is the Magewell Pro Convert for NDI to HDMI 4K decoder?
The Magewell Pro Convert for NDI to HDMI 4K is a standalone IP video decoder that turns 4K NDI and network streams into a 4K60 HDMI signal for displays, projectors and LED walls. It decodes NDI High Bandwidth, NDI HX, HX2 and HX3 and SRT, RTSP, RTMP, HLS, HTTP and MPEG-TS streams at up to 4K60. It is the 4K receive end of an NDI system, matched to 4K encoders such as the Pro Convert HDMI 4K Plus.
How does the Magewell Pro Convert for NDI to HDMI 4K work?
The decoder discovers NDI sources on the network and decodes the selected stream with SpeedHQ, H.264 or H.265 video and AAC or MP3 audio, at up to 4096×2160 60p. It outputs over HDMI 1.4/2.0 at the format the connected display prefers, including high-refresh 1440p up to 144 Hz, with eight channels of 96 kHz audio. Output resolution, deinterlacing, alpha blending, on-screen display, audio gain, sample rate and channel mapping are configurable.
Besides NDI, it decodes SRT, RTSP, RTMP, HLS and MPEG-TS streams. It is managed through its web interface, Magewell Control Hub or HTTP APIs, and Magewell publishes Q-SYS and Crestron plugins for the Pro Convert decoders so a control system can switch sources from a touch panel.
