What is the Magewell Ultra Stream SDI streaming encoder?
The Magewell Ultra Stream SDI is a simple standalone 3G-SDI streaming and recording box that sends one SDI camera or feed to YouTube, Facebook, Twitch or a custom RTMP server without a computer. It accepts SD, HD and 3G-SDI with loop-through and 16 channels of embedded audio, and streams and records at up to 1080p60. It suits churches, venues and meeting rooms with SDI cameras that need easy, app-controlled streaming.
How does the Magewell Ultra Stream SDI work?
The unit accepts SD, HD and 3G-SDI up to 2K60 with 8, 10 or 12-bit color and passes the signal on through a BNC loop-through. It encodes H.264 at up to 1080p60 with AAC audio taken from the SDI signal or the 3.5 mm microphone input, and extracts SDI audio to a 3.5 mm headphone output for monitoring. It streams over RTMP, RTMPS or RTSP with native YouTube, Facebook and Twitch support.
Recordings save as MP4 to a USB flash drive or a paired phone while the unit streams, with timed recording options. Staff run it from the front button or the Magewell mobile app over Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. It connects by Gigabit Ethernet, Wi-Fi or a USB cellular modem and runs from its AC adapter.
