What is the Magewell USB Capture AIO capture device?
The Magewell USB Capture AIO is a multi-input USB 3.0 capture box that brings almost any video source into a computer as a webcam: HDMI, DVI, VGA, component, S-Video, composite or 3G-SDI. It captures up to 2048×1080 with embedded or analog audio and works driver-free with Zoom Rooms, Microsoft Teams, OBS and other UVC software. It is the one capture device that handles new and legacy sources in mixed-equipment rooms, labs and government facilities.
How does the Magewell USB Capture AIO work?
The AIO accepts HDMI 1.4a (via breakout), DVI, VGA (via adapter) and component on its DVI-I port; S-Video, composite, component and analog stereo audio on its DB9 port; and SD, HD and 3G-SDI on BNC, with 3G-SDI cable runs up to 150 m. Analog inputs are digitized by a 12-bit converter that handles separate, composite, sync-on-green and sync-on-luma timing, with custom CVT and GTF timings for unusual computer outputs.
Its onboard pipeline crops, scales, deinterlaces and converts format and frame rate before sending up to 2048×1080 at up to 120 fps to the computer over USB 3.0. Audio comes from HDMI, SDI or the analog inputs. The computer sees a standard UVC and UAC device, so no drivers are needed, and the MWCapture SDK supports custom applications. It is USB-powered at about 5 W and rated for 24/7 operation.
