The Kramer PT-1C is a 4K HDR HDMI EDID processor that sits inline between a source and a display. It locks EDID and lets the installer choose whether HDCP, multichannel audio or deep color are supported, so a source only sends formats the display chain can handle. It is a simple fix for blank screens, wrong resolutions and audio dropouts caused by EDID mismatches.
How does the Kramer PT-1C work?
The PT-1C has one HDMI input and one HDMI output and passes signals up to 4K@60Hz 4:4:4 at 17.82Gbps, with HDR10 and HDCP 2.2. Four DIP-switches set its behavior: lock the EDID presented to the source, and enable or disable HDCP, multichannel audio and deep color.
That makes it useful for keeping new sources working on older displays and infrastructure, and as a troubleshooting aid when commissioning a room. The unit takes its power from the HDMI line, so no power supply is needed, and a power LED confirms operation.
