What is the Kramer EXT3-H-POE-T HDBaseT 3.0 transmitter?
The Kramer EXT3-H-POE-T is a long-reach HDBaseT 3.0 transmitter for 4K@60Hz or 5K@30Hz 4:4:4 HDR HDMI, bidirectional RS-232 and IR over one twisted pair cable. It reaches up to 40m (130ft) at 4K60 or 5K30, and up to 70m (230ft) at 4K30 or 1080p. Symmetrical PoE means the pair can be powered from either the transmitter or the receiver end, so only one location needs a power supply.
How does the Kramer EXT3-H-POE-T work?
The transmitter takes an HDMI source and converts it, with RS-232 and IR control, into an HDBaseT 3.0 signal over CAT cable. Video is carried uncompressed with near-zero latency at up to 18Gbps, and HDR10, HDCP 2.3, deep color, lossless audio formats, EDID and CEC pass from source to display.
Above 40m, the link moves to high compression to reach 70m at 4K30 4:4:4 or 1080p. Because it is a standard HDBaseT extender, it is backward compatible with other standard HDBT receivers and with Kramer matrix switchers that have HDBaseT 3.0 inputs.
Bidirectional RS-232 runs at up to 115200 baud without pre-configuration, and IR control is extended in both directions. The fanless DigiTOOLS aluminum enclosure mounts above a dropped ceiling or three across in 1U with the Kramer RK-3T-B rack adapter.
