The Kramer SWT3-21-HU-TR is a 2x1 4K60 USB-C/HDMI auto-switcher with an HDMI output and a long-range HDBaseT 3.0 port that can be set to transmit or receive. It extends 4K60 4:4:4 HDMI, USB 2.0, RS-232, IR and I/O signals up to 40m (131ft) over twisted pair, and switches room USB peripherals such as a camera and microphone to the active host. That makes it a BYOD hybrid meeting room switcher that can sit at either the presenter end or the display end of the room.
How does the Kramer SWT3-21-HU-TR work?
A presenter connects over USB-C (DisplayPort Alt Mode with USB Power Delivery 3.0 charging up to 60W) or HDMI with USB. The unit auto-switches to the active source and also routes the connected USB peripherals to that host, so the laptop running Teams or Zoom picks up the room camera, microphone and speakers along with the display. Because the HDBaseT 3.0 port is field-configurable as an output or an input, the same model can act as the transmitter at the table or the receiver at the display, and Kramer K-Pair support simplifies pairing with a compatible unit.
Video is switched at 4K@60Hz 4:4:4 with 18Gbps bandwidth and HDCP 2.3, with Kramer I-EDIDPro EDID processing and HDMI mirroring to the local HDMI output. Multichannel audio is carried over HDBaseT and also de-embedded to a balanced stereo line output. The built-in control gateway, bidirectional RS-232 and IR extension and display on/off control let the system power the display automatically and control other room devices. The unit is housed in a MegaTOOLS aluminum enclosure with a 20V DC power adapter.
