Product Overview
The Huddly IQ with Microphone (SKU 7090043790580) is a 4K wide-angle USB conference camera with an integrated 5-element beamforming microphone array, providing both high-quality video and directional audio capture from a single compact device. Designed for BYOD meeting rooms and bring-your-own-laptop environments, it connects via USB Type-C with SuperSpeed USB 3.0 and operates as a UVC 1.1 plug-and-play device compatible with Windows and macOS without driver installation. Certified for both Microsoft Teams and Zoom, the Huddly IQ w/Mic is widely deployed in small conference rooms, huddle spaces, and hot-desking environments where a clean, two-cable-free room setup is the priority. Note that a Huddly USB cable is required and sold separately.
Product Description
The Huddly IQ is built around a 12 MP 1/2.3" CMOS sensor with a fixed f/2.8 aperture and a 150° diagonal field of view, outputting 1080p at 30fps and 720p at 30fps in 16:9 format. The wide 120° horizontal field of view makes it particularly effective in small rooms and huddle spaces where participants are seated close to the display and a standard 90° FOV camera would clip the ends of the table. Real-Time Dewarping corrects the inherent barrel distortion of the ultra-wide lens in processing, delivering a natural, undistorted image without sacrificing the wide coverage area.
The 5-element beamforming microphone array embedded in the IQ's body uses directional processing to focus on voices within the room while attenuating background noise and echo. This makes the IQ w/Mic a self-contained audio-video endpoint for small rooms where adding a separate tabletop microphone is impractical or undesirable. The array supports the full conference table area typical of a huddle room or small boardroom without requiring microphone placement on the table surface.
On the AI video side, the IQ runs Gallery View to maintain a split-screen layout with individual participant crops, Group Framing to track and reframe as participants move, Portrait Lighting for exposure compensation in backlit rooms, and Digital PTZ for software-based pan, tilt, and zoom without mechanical components. The InSights Analytics API enables room utilization data collection from the camera feed. The aluminum unibody with embedded mounting hinge clips directly onto a display bezel, and a tripod mount is also available for stand-alone or mobile use cases. The Huddly USB cable (sold separately) is required; standard USB-C cables are not compatible with the IQ's proprietary signaling.
Key Features
- Integrated 5-Element Beamforming Microphone Array — Provides directional audio capture from a single device, eliminating the need for a separate tabletop microphone in small rooms.
- 4K Wide-Angle Conference Camera — 12 MP 1/2.3" CMOS sensor with 120° H / 90° V / 150° D FOV delivers full room coverage in huddle spaces and small conference rooms.
- Real-Time Dewarping — Corrects barrel distortion from the ultra-wide lens in real time, presenting a natural, geometrically accurate image to remote participants.
- Gallery View AI — Automatically generates a split-screen layout with individual participant frames, replicating a multi-camera setup from a single wide-angle device.
- Group Framing — On-device AI tracks all participants in the room and reframes the shot dynamically without mechanical PTZ movement.
- Portrait Lighting — AI exposure management corrects for backlit windows and uneven room lighting, improving participant visibility across varied environments.
- Digital PTZ — Software-based pan, tilt, and zoom allows the operator to adjust the framing from the connected platform without any mechanical components to wear out.
- UVC 1.1 Plug-and-Play — Compatible with Windows and macOS as a standard UVC device; no driver installation required for BYOD and hot-desk deployments.
- Certified for Microsoft Teams and Zoom — Validated for both major enterprise video conferencing platforms, confirming tested interoperability in Teams and Zoom meeting environments.
- Aluminum Unibody Construction — Embedded mounting hinge and tripod mount provide installation flexibility, and the single-body design eliminates mechanical failure points.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Why is a separate Huddly USB cable required?
A: The Huddly IQ uses a proprietary signaling protocol over the USB-C connector. Standard USB-C cables do not carry the full signal required for the camera's AI processing pipeline. The Huddly USB cable must be purchased separately to use the device.
Q: What is the difference between the IQ w/Mic and the IQ without microphone?
A: The IQ w/Mic (SKU 7090043790580) includes the 5-element beamforming microphone array embedded in the camera body, making it a combined audio-video device. The base IQ model does not include the microphone array and requires a separate audio solution.
Q: Is the Huddly IQ compatible with standard USB hubs?
A: The Huddly IQ requires the Huddly USB cable for connectivity. Compatibility with USB hubs depends on the hub's power delivery and USB 3.0 signaling capability. Verify with Huddly's compatibility documentation for specific hub models.
Q: Is the IQ certified for Microsoft Teams and Zoom?
A: Yes. The Huddly IQ is certified for both Microsoft Teams and Zoom, making it a validated device for deployments on either platform.
Q: What does Real-Time Dewarping do?
A: The IQ's ultra-wide 150° diagonal lens produces barrel distortion at the edges of the frame. Real-Time Dewarping applies on-device correction to straighten lines and deliver a natural image without reducing the effective field of view.
Q: Can the camera mount on top of a display?
A: Yes. The aluminum unibody includes an embedded mounting hinge designed to clip onto a display bezel. A tripod mount is also available for freestanding or alternative installation positions.
Q: Does the beamforming microphone array work with all video conferencing platforms?
A: The microphone array presents as a standard USB audio device and functions with any platform that accepts USB audio input. Beamforming processing is handled on-device and does not require platform-specific support.
Q: What is the InSights Analytics API?
A: InSights is Huddly's on-device analytics feature that collects room utilization and occupancy data from the camera feed. The API allows this data to be exported to third-party workplace management or facility reporting platforms.
