Product Overview
The Eaton PDUMH32HVATNET is a 7.7kW single-phase switched automatic transfer switch (ATS) PDU built to provide redundant power for network devices with non-redundant power supplies. Designed for data centers and server rooms running dual power feeds, this 2U rack PDU combines dynamic solid-state transfer switching with a built-in Ethernet interface for remote power monitoring, control, and notifications. It's a strong fit for facilities that need dual-source redundancy without upgrading every connected device to a dual-corded model.
Product Description
The PDUMH32HVATNET mounts in 2U of space in EIA-standard racks and delivers 7.7kW of single-phase 230V power through 18 switched outlets — 16 C13 and 2 C19 — arranged in two load banks, each protected by a 20A circuit breaker. Dual 3-meter input cords terminate in IEC309 32A Blue (2P+E) plugs, connecting to separate primary and secondary single-phase 230V power sources such as separate mains circuits, backup generators, or independent UPS systems. The PDU continuously evaluates the power quality of both inputs, and its dynamic solid-state (TRIAC) automatic transfer switching moves connected equipment to the secondary source within 1 to 5 milliseconds if the primary input fails or becomes unstable, keeping single-corded servers and network devices running without interruption. A built-in Ethernet network interface enables remote access for power monitoring, configuration, control, and notifications via web browser, SSH, telnet, or SNMP, with real-time load and current data accurate to within plus or minus 1 percent — billing-grade precision suitable for colocation environments that need to bill tenants for actual power consumption. User-programmable outlet startup sequencing ensures connected network equipment powers on in the correct order and is reliably discovered by upstream systems. A digital LED display reports power availability, voltage, source A/B input status, output load, and power factor, and can display temperature and humidity data with the optional ENVIROSENSE module (sold separately). For data centers and colocation facilities standardizing on dual-feed redundancy, this switched ATS PDU is a practical way to extend that redundancy down to single-corded equipment.

Key Features
- Automatic Transfer Switching — Solid-state TRIAC switching moves connected equipment to the secondary power source within 1-5 milliseconds if the primary source fails.
- Dual 32A IEC309 Inputs — Two 3-meter input cords with IEC309 32A Blue plugs connect to separate primary and secondary power sources.
- 18 Switched Outlets — 16 C13 and 2 C19 outlets across two 20A breakered load banks support individual outlet control.
- Billing-Grade Metering — Real-time load and current data accurate to plus or minus 1 percent supports colocation power billing.
- Built-In Ethernet Interface — Remote monitoring, configuration, and control are available via web browser, SSH, telnet, or SNMP.
- Programmable Outlet Sequencing — User-defined startup order and intervals ensure network equipment powers on correctly and is reliably discovered.
- Environmental Monitoring Ready — The optional ENVIROSENSE module adds temperature and humidity monitoring to the digital LED display.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does an ATS PDU do that a standard rack PDU does not?
An ATS (automatic transfer switch) PDU monitors two independent power inputs and automatically switches connected equipment to the secondary source within milliseconds if the primary source fails, providing redundant power to single-corded devices.
Do I need dual-corded servers to use this PDU?
No. The PDUMH32HVATNET is specifically designed to add redundant power protection to network devices that have only a single power supply, by switching the entire outlet bank to the backup source if needed.
Can this PDU integrate with existing network monitoring tools?
Yes. The built-in Ethernet interface supports SNMP, SSH, telnet, and secure web browser access, allowing integration with common data center monitoring and management platforms.
What is required to take advantage of the ENVIROSENSE feature?
Environmental monitoring for temperature and humidity requires the optional ENVIROSENSE module, which is sold separately and connects to the PDU's monitoring port.
Is this PDU suitable for a colocation facility that bills tenants by power usage?
Yes. Its billing-grade metering accuracy of plus or minus 1 percent makes it appropriate for environments where accurate per-rack power consumption data is needed for tenant billing.
What warranty does Eaton provide on this unit?
Eaton backs this unit with its standard manufacturer warranty; contact Creation Networks for the current term and any extended coverage options.
Does this PDU require a TAA-compliant purchase for government contracts?
The PDUMH32HVATNET is TAA compliant, making it eligible for GSA Schedule and other federal procurement contracts that require Trade Agreements Act compliance.
