Product Overview

The Eaton PDUMH20NET is a single-phase switched PDU built for network administrators who need outlet-level remote control at 20A in a horizontal 1U rack-mount footprint. It distributes 120V power through 16 NEMA 5-15/20R outlets from an L5-20P input, with the ability to turn on, turn off, recycle, or lock out power to each individual receptacle over the network. Advanced monitoring and custom power-up sequencing make this switched PDU well suited for data centers and server rooms running interdependent IT systems that need controlled startup and remote reboot capability.

Product Description

This 1U horizontal switched PDU offers advanced network control and monitoring for a rack of IT equipment, with the ability to turn on, turn off, recycle, or lock out power to each of 16 NEMA 5-15/20R outlets individually. The built-in, Java-free, HTML5-based LX Platform network interface enables full remote access for PDU status monitoring and email notifications via secure web browser, SNMP, telnet, or SSH, with 10/100 Mbps Ethernet auto-sensing. Supported protocols include IPv4, IPv6, HTTP, HTTPS, SMTP, SNMPv1, SNMPv2, SNMPv3, telnet, SSH, FTP, DHCP, BOOTP, and NTP, giving network administrators flexibility when integrating the PDU into existing management systems. Individually switched outlets can be controlled in real time to remotely reboot unresponsive network hardware, or custom programmed for user-defined power-up and power-down sequencing to ensure proper startup of interdependent IT systems and prevent inrush-related overloads as equipment is first energized — a valuable capability when bringing an entire rack of servers and network gear online in a controlled order. Unused PDU outlets can be electronically locked off to prevent the connection of unauthorized hardware. PDU output current consumption is continuously displayed locally via a visual meter and remotely through the web/network interface, warning of potential overloads before critical IT mains or branch breakers trip. Accepting a 20A input via L5-20P, this PDU supports higher-density racks than its 15A counterpart while retaining the same switched-outlet and network management feature set.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is custom power-up sequencing and why does it matter?

It lets administrators program a specific order and timing for outlets to power on, ensuring interdependent IT systems start up correctly and preventing inrush-related overloads when a full rack of equipment is energized at once.

Can I reboot a single device without affecting the rest of the rack?

Yes, each of the 16 outlets is individually switched, so a single device can be turned off, on, or recycled without disturbing the rest of the rack.

How does electronic outlet lock-out work?

Administrators can electronically lock off any unused outlet through the network interface, preventing unauthorized equipment from being connected.

What is the difference between this model and the 15A switched PDU?

The PDUMH20NET accepts a 20A input via L5-20P, supporting higher-density rack loads, while retaining the same switched-outlet and network management feature set as the 15A model.

How do I access the PDU remotely?

The built-in LX Platform network card provides an HTML5-based interface accessible via web browser, along with SNMP, telnet, and SSH support over Ethernet.

What warranty applies to the PDUMH20NET?

Eaton backs this unit with its standard manufacturer warranty; contact Creation Networks for the current term and any extended coverage options.

Can Creation Networks help configure power-up sequencing for our rack?

Yes, our team can help plan outlet sequencing to match your equipment's startup requirements.
