Product Overview
The Eaton PDUMH20HVATNET is a switched automatic transfer switch (ATS) PDU designed to keep single-corded network equipment powered when a primary source fails. Rated for 200-240V at 16A, it distributes power through 10 outlets (C13/C19) and includes a network interface for remote monitoring and outlet-level control. Dual input cords let integrators connect the PDU to separate primary and secondary power sources — utility feed, generator, or independent UPS units — making it a strong fit for data centers and server rooms that need redundant power without redundant power supplies. This switched ATS PDU is built for facilities that require both automatic failover and remote outlet management.
Product Description
This 1U rack-mount PDU combines automatic transfer switch (ATS) functionality with individually switched, network-controllable outlets. Dual input cords connect to separate primary and secondary AC sources; if the primary source becomes unstable or fails, the unit transfers to the secondary source within milliseconds, maintaining continuous output to all 10 C13/C19 outlets without interrupting connected servers or network equipment. ATS functionality works across any two compatible AC sources regardless of phase angle, supporting configurations that use separate mains circuits, backup generators, or independent utility feeds. In a two-UPS environment, Eaton recommends a full-time sine wave UPS with zero transfer time on the primary input. Beyond failover, the switched design lets administrators turn outlets on, off, or recycle power to individual receptacles remotely — useful for rebooting unresponsive equipment without a site visit. The built-in LX Platform network interface is Java-free and HTML5-based, giving administrators full remote access for status monitoring and email notifications via web browser, SNMP, telnet, or SSH, with 10/100 Mbps Ethernet auto-sensing. Front-panel LEDs indicate which input source is active. Optional EnviroSense2 environmental monitoring modules (sold separately) extend the unit's monitoring to temperature and humidity. This combination of ATS redundancy and switched outlet control makes the PDUMH20HVATNET well suited to data center racks and server rooms running mission-critical, single-corded equipment.

Key Features
- Automatic Transfer Switching — Dual inputs allow millisecond failover from a failed or unstable primary source to a secondary source without dropping connected loads.
- Individually Switched Outlets — Administrators can turn on, turn off, or recycle power to each of the 10 outlets remotely to reboot unresponsive equipment.
- Built-In LX Platform Network Card — A Java-free HTML5 interface provides remote monitoring and control via web browser, SNMP, telnet, or SSH.
- Dual Independent Input Cords — Separate primary and secondary cords support connection to independent mains, generator, or UPS sources for true redundancy.
- Front-Panel Source Indicator LEDs — LEDs display which input source is active, giving technicians a quick visual status check at the rack.
- Optional EnviroSense2 Support — Compatible environmental monitoring modules add temperature and humidity data collection when needed.

Frequently Asked Questions
What happens if the primary power source fails?
The on-board ATS processor detects the loss or instability of the primary source and transfers output to the secondary source within milliseconds, maintaining continuous power to connected equipment.
Do both input sources need to be the same phase?
No. ATS functionality is supported by any two compatible AC power sources regardless of phase angle.
Can I reboot a single piece of equipment without affecting the rest of the rack?
Yes. Each of the 10 outlets is individually switched, so you can turn off, turn on, or recycle power to one receptacle without disturbing the others.
How do I monitor this PDU remotely?
The built-in LX Platform network card provides an HTML5-based interface accessible via web browser, along with SNMP, telnet, and SSH support over a 10/100 Mbps Ethernet connection.
Is a UPS required on both input cords?
A UPS is not strictly required on both cords, but Eaton recommends a full-time sine wave UPS with zero transfer time as the primary source in a two-UPS configuration for the most reliable failover.
What is the warranty on this unit?
Eaton backs this unit with its standard manufacturer warranty; contact Creation Networks for the current term and any extended coverage options.
