Product Overview

The Draper Targa is a free-hanging, ceiling- or wall-mounted electric projection screen for permanent commercial AV installations. This 161" HDTV (16:9) model is a large-format motorized projection screen for auditoriums, large conference rooms, and multi-purpose spaces that present widescreen data and video content. The tubular motor is housed inside the roller tube, so the screen retracts into a slim pentagonal steel case for a low-profile finish. Choose your surface, voltage, and motor configuration using the selectors above.

Product Description

The Draper Targa electric projection screen is engineered for integrators specifying an affordable, motor-in-roller screen for fixed front-projection rooms in the 16:9 HDTV format. The screen is free-hanging and held flat by a weighted bottom dowel, and the fire-retardant, mildew-resistant viewing surface is available in Matt White XT1000E, Contrast Grey XH800E, or ClearSound White Weave XT900E to match the room's lighting and application. The 22-gauge pentagonal steel case carries a scratch-resistant white finish, and the matching endcaps double as universal mounting brackets for either wall or ceiling installation, with optional floating wall brackets and a ceiling trim kit available for recessed jobs. A standard 110-120V or 220V three-position control switch lets an operator stop or reverse the screen at any point in its travel, with a Quiet Motor available on all surfaces and voltages, and LVC-IV low-voltage control also available on 110V and on 220V for Matt White XT1000E and Contrast Grey XH800E — selectable above.

Key Features

  • Motor-in-roller design — The tubular motor is concealed inside the 3" roller tube, keeping the case slim and the installation low-profile.
  • 16:9 HDTV format — This 161" model matches the native aspect ratio of modern HDTV and commercial projectors, sized for large-venue installations.
  • Configurable viewing surface — Choose Matt White XT1000E, Contrast Grey XH800E, or ClearSound White Weave XT900E to suit room lighting and application.
  • Free-hanging with weighted dowel — The surface hangs flat under a weighted bottom dowel for a clean picture without field tensioning.
  • Pentagonal steel case — A 22-gauge steel case with a scratch-resistant white finish protects the surface when retracted.
  • Universal mounting endcaps — Matching endcaps double as wall or ceiling brackets, with optional floating wall brackets and a ceiling trim kit for recessed installs.
  • Quiet Motor and LVC-IV options — Upgrade from the standard 3-position switch for lower operating noise and/or low-voltage room-control integration.
  • UL Listed with 5-year warranty — The unit is UL Listed for the U.S. and Canada and supplied by Creation Networks with Draper's 5-year warranty.

Frequently Asked Questions

What surfaces are available for this size?
Matt White XT1000E, Contrast Grey XH800E, and ClearSound White Weave XT900E (acoustically transparent). Select your preferred surface above.

What voltage and motor options are available?
110V and 220V. Standard and Quiet Motor are available across all surfaces and voltages; LVC-IV Low Voltage Controller is available on 110V for all surfaces and on 220V for Matt White and Contrast Grey. Select your configuration above; the motor is not field-convertible between voltages.

Can the Targa be ceiling-mounted or recessed?
Yes. The matching endcaps act as universal brackets for wall or ceiling surface mounting. For a recessed look, Draper offers an optional ceiling trim kit; Draper recommends an additional 12" (30 cm) of top drop for optimal ceiling-recessed installation.

How is the screen controlled?
Standard ships with a 110-120V or 220V three-position switch that stops or reverses the screen at any point in its travel. Quiet Motor lowers operating noise. LVC-IV Low Voltage Controller adds built-in low-voltage control for room-control integration where available.

What warranty and support are included?
The Targa carries Draper's 5-year warranty and is UL Listed for the U.S. and Canada, supplied through Creation Networks as an authorized dealer.
