Product Overview
The Crestron Saros IC4P is a passive full-range in-ceiling speaker built around a Balanced Mode Radiator (BMR) transducer for very wide, even coverage. Its single full-range driver delivers consistent off-axis response that suits both speech and background music in commercial ceilings. The speaker connects either to an external amplifier or to a Crestron Saros DM-NAX-IC4A-W audio-over-network endpoint. A plenum-rated steel enclosure and tool-free magnetic grille make it well suited to drop-tile and fixed ceilings. The white textured finish blends into typical ceiling surfaces.
Product Description
The Saros IC4P uses a 2.83 in. (72 mm) BMR transducer that radiates sound across an exceptionally wide pattern, rated at 170 degrees conical for speech up to 4 kHz and 140 degrees conical for music up to 8 kHz. This broad dispersion allows fewer speakers to cover a given area while maintaining even tonal balance as listeners move through the space. Frequency response spans 90 Hz to 30 kHz (±3 dB) with 86 dB sensitivity and 25 W power handling. Two mutually exclusive inputs are provided: a 2-pin terminal block for connection to an external amplifier (8 ohm, 7.4 ohm nominal) and an RJ-45 input for use with the Saros DM-NAX-IC4A-W only. Only one input may be connected at a time. The plenum-rated painted steel enclosure includes a 0.75 in. conduit knockout on the top and sides and a cable clamp. Installation uses four integral two-step toggle clamps that accommodate surfaces up to 2.36 in. (60 mm) thick, and an included tile bridge provides support in drop-tile ceilings. The magnetically held steel grille installs without tools and includes a safety tether. For amplifier-channel limits when used with the DM-NAX-IC4A-W, refer to the Crestron data sheet.

Frequently Asked Questions
What makes the BMR transducer different?
A Balanced Mode Radiator behaves as a single full-range driver with very wide dispersion, giving consistent tonal balance off-axis and allowing broad coverage from fewer speakers.
How do I connect it?
Use either the 2-pin terminal block for an external amplifier or the RJ-45 input for a Saros DM-NAX-IC4A-W. Do not connect both inputs at the same time.
Is it suitable for plenum ceilings?
Yes. The painted steel enclosure is plenum-rated and includes conduit knockouts and a cable clamp for code-compliant installation.
How does it install in a drop-tile ceiling?
Four integral two-step toggle clamps secure surfaces up to 2.36 in. thick, and an included tile bridge provides support in standard drop-tile ceilings.
What other Saros ceiling speakers are available, and what warranty applies?
The Saros IC6T 6.5 in. 2-way in-ceiling speaker is available for higher-output zones. Crestron speakers carry a limited warranty with a 5-year term on grilles. Contact Creation Networks.
