The BrightSign RC1002-KIT pairs the RC1002 handheld IR remote with a 5 ft 3.5mm IR receiver cable, giving a BrightSign player everything it needs for remote control in one part number. BrightSign states the RC-1002 works with all BrightSign players that have a USB port or a 3.5mm IR port, and the included cable connects to that 3.5mm IR port. This BrightSign IR remote kit is the simplest way to add hands-off content control to a digital signage or kiosk install.
Product Description
BrightSign notes that an IR remote needs a USB or 3.5mm IR adapter on the player, and the kit covers that requirement with the 5 ft receiver cable. The cable runs the IR eye from a player hidden behind a display or inside a cabinet out to where the remote can see it. BrightSign's 3.5mm IR port can receive common consumer-IR formats including NEC and RC5.
Players with the 3.5mm IR port include the Series 5 BrightSign HD225, BrightSign XD235 and BrightSign XT245, and BrightSign lists Series 4 models such as the BrightSign XT1144-T as well. Button actions are set in BrightSign Author, BrightAuthor Classic or BrightScript, so the remote can change playlists, select zones or navigate interactive menus. Common uses are reception screens, training rooms, retail demo displays and museum exhibits.
