Product Overview
The BrightSign RC1002 is a handheld IR remote control for BrightSign digital signage players. BrightSign states the RC-1002 can be used with all BrightSign players that have a USB port or a 3.5mm IR port, and it can be programmed to drive navigation, playback and content selection. This BrightSign IR remote control is the supported choice when staff need to change content or step through a presentation without touching the player.
Product Description
The remote sends commands to the player through an IR receiver connected to the player's USB port or its 3.5mm IR port. BrightSign notes that an IR remote requires a USB or 3.5mm IR adapter, so plan for a receiver: the RC1002-KIT bundles this remote with the 5 ft 3.5mm IR receiver cable, or the CBL-IR RCVR 3.5MM cable can be ordered separately. Behavior is set in BrightSign Author, BrightAuthor Classic or BrightScript, where each button's code can be mapped to a playlist change, a zone action or a menu step.
BrightSign lists the XTx44, XTx43, XDx34, XDx33, XDx32, HDx4 and HO523 among models with a 3.5mm IR port, which includes the BrightSign XT1144-T. Current Series 5 players such as the BrightSign HD225 and BrightSign XD235 also have a 3.5mm IR in/out port. Typical uses include lobby and reception screens, training rooms, retail demo displays and museum exhibits where a staff member needs simple control.
