Product Overview
The Blackmagic Design SmartView 4K G3 is a rackmount Ultra HD broadcast monitor with both 12G-SDI and SMPTE ST-2110 IP inputs, supporting SD, HD, and Ultra HD up to 2160p60. Its full-resolution Ultra HD LCD sits in a thin machined-aluminum chassis with on-screen overlays, 3D LUTs, and tally, making it a flexible monitoring solution for broadcast, live production, and fly-away kits.
Product Description
The SmartView 4K G3 provides two 12G-SDI inputs plus optical and copper ST-2110 IP video connections, and either source can be sent to a 12G-SDI loop output. You switch between SDI and IP at the push of a button, and the monitor automatically follows the input across all SD, HD, and Ultra HD standards. The high-resolution LCD shows every pixel of an Ultra HD image with no overscan, and front-panel buttons keep fingerprints off the screen while giving direct access to input, brightness, H/V blanking, blue-only, zoom, peaking, 3D LUTs, and markers.
For camera work, on-screen overlays include focus peaking, safe-area and safe-title markers, and four adjustable frame guides (two horizontal, two vertical) for any aspect ratio. Built-in 3D LUTs re-map log or HDR colorspaces to the screen or apply creative looks, uploaded with the free SmartView utility or exported from DaVinci Resolve. The monitor conforms to ST-2110 (2110-20 uncompressed video, the Blackmagic IP codec for high-frame-rate Ultra HD, 2110-21 timing, 2110-30 audio, 2110-40 ancillary data) with multicast output, and supports NMOS IS-04/IS-05 for discovery and connection management so it operates within a virtual IP router. It also supports the Blackmagic SDI Tally Protocol — a colored on-air/preview border over a single BNC from ATEM switchers — and includes both AC and 12V DC power inputs for redundancy or battery operation.
