The AVPro Edge 10G SFP+ Copper RJ45 100M Module is a hot-swappable SFP+ transceiver that provides 10 Gigabit Ethernet connectivity over standard copper cabling (Cat 6A or better) at distances up to 100 meters. Designed for deployment in AVPro Edge 10G switches and other SFP+-equipped managed switches, this module enables integrators and network engineers to build high-speed AV-over-IP infrastructure without requiring fiber optic cabling or LC connectors—using familiar RJ45 terminations and standard copper runs throughout.
Description
In 10G AV-over-IP environments, the choice between copper and fiber SFP+ modules is driven by infrastructure constraints, distance requirements, and budget considerations. The 100M copper RJ45 module covers the full 100-meter structured cabling run—the maximum distance for 10GBase-T over Cat 6A—making it appropriate for large-scale AV/IP deployments where switch-to-switch or switch-to-endpoint distances approach the practical limits of copper Ethernet. Because it uses standard RJ45, installers can terminate cables on-site using conventional tools, which is not possible with fiber LC connectors.
This module is validated for use in AVPro Edge 10G switches and is also compatible with a wide range of third-party SFP+ switches including models from Netgear, Cisco, and other enterprise networking vendors. Hot-swap capability means modules can be added or replaced without powering down the switch.
