The AUDAC TRM248/B is a 70/100V line transformer module that converts passive AUDAC VEXO112 and VEXO115 loudspeakers for constant-voltage distributed audio systems. It replaces the loudspeaker's standard backplate with an aluminum backplate carrying a copper toroidal transformer, offering 480 W, 240 W and 120 W taps. The black finish matches black VEXO cabinets in venues, houses of worship, sports facilities and large multi-purpose rooms that run long 70V or 100V speaker lines.
How does the AUDAC TRM248/B 70/100V transformer module work?
The TRM series transformers are optional modules for the passive variants of the VEXO series only. Installation is done by removing the original backplate of the loudspeaker and fitting the TRM248 backplate in its place, with the transformer already integrated. This lets a high-performance VEXO112/B or VEXO115/B cabinet run on a 70V or 100V line together with other constant-voltage loudspeakers. At 100 V the module offers 480 W and 240 W taps; at 70 V it offers 480 W, 240 W and 120 W taps, with tap 1 (480 W) available only on 70 V lines. The secondary is 8 Ω to suit the VEXO driver, and the frequency response is 50 Hz – 20 kHz (±3 dB). The amplifier connects to an external 8-pin terminal block, while an internal 2-pin connector links to the loudspeaker. Mounting hardware is included: an M8 x 3.15 in (80 mm) bolt with metal, rubber, flat and spring washers. Drive it from a 70/100V amplifier such as the AUDAC PMQ240. A white version (TRM248/W) is available for white cabinets.
