What is the AUDAC SSP500/W sauna speaker?
The AUDAC SSP500/W is a flush-mount 2-way speaker built for very hot, humid rooms such as saunas, steam rooms, bathrooms and indoor pools. It runs at 20 W continuous (AES) into 8 Ω and is rated to operate from -40 °C to 90 °C at under 95% relative humidity. A 5.25" woofer with a coaxial 1" tweeter sits behind a white aluminum grill.
How does the AUDAC SSP500/W sauna speaker work?
The SSP500/W uses a heat-resistant ABS enclosure and an aluminum grill so it holds up where ordinary ceiling speakers would warp or corrode. It installs in a 4.72" cut-out with just 2.36" of built-in depth and clamps with four screws. Response is 75 Hz – 20 kHz (±3 dB) with 86 dB sensitivity and 99 dB max SPL, enough for clear background music and announcements in wellness areas, locker rooms and spa suites. It is an 8 Ω speaker, so drive it from a low-impedance amplifier channel. Note: AUDAC rates it for heat and humidity but does not publish an IP rating, so treat it as a wet-room speaker, not a direct-spray or outdoor one. See the AUDAC collection for amplifiers.
