AUDAC CHA530 – 5" 2-Way Horn Loudspeaker, IP66, 70/100V
What is the AUDAC CHA530 horn loudspeaker?
The AUDAC CHA530 is a 5" 2-way horn-loaded loudspeaker for long-throw reproduction of speech and music in indoor and outdoor public address systems. It handles 30 W continuous (AES) power, reaches 113 dB maximum SPL and is rated IP66 for permanent outdoor installation. A multi-tap 70/100V line transformer makes it a direct fit for distributed paging systems in campuses, sports facilities, parking structures and industrial sites.
How does the AUDAC CHA530 horn loudspeaker work?
The CHA530 combines a 1" high-frequency compression driver with a 5" mid/low-frequency driver, which gives clearer speech and more extended music reproduction than a traditional single-driver paging horn. Sensitivity is 98 dB at 1W/1m and the frequency response (±3 dB) covers 110 Hz – 16 kHz. Coverage is 110° horizontal by 60° vertical, so a single unit can throw announcements down a corridor, across a field or along a platform. The built-in multi-tapping transformer works on 100 V and 70 V lines, with taps of 30 W, 15 W, 7.5 W and 3.75 W. The tap is selected by rotating the waterproof AWX5™ connector, so no internal wiring changes are needed on site. The enclosure is UV- and impact-resistant ABS, and the included powder-coated steel bracket allows secure mounting and tilting toward the listening area. AUDAC rates the CHA530 IP66, making it weatherproof for permanent outdoor installation. Drive it from any 70V or 100V paging amplifier, and size the amplifier for the sum of the selected taps plus headroom.
What are the key features of the AUDAC CHA530 horn loudspeaker?
- 2-way horn design — a 1" compression driver and 5" woofer deliver better speech clarity and music range than single-driver horns.
- 30 W continuous power — handles 30 W AES, 60 W program and 120 W peak.
- Multi-tap 70/100V transformer — taps of 30 W, 15 W, 7.5 W and 3.75 W let installers balance level across a distributed line.
- AWX5™ rotary tap selection — the waterproof connector selects the power tap by rotation with no tools inside the enclosure.
- IP66 ingress protection — AUDAC rates the enclosure IP66 for permanent outdoor installation.
- UV- and impact-resistant ABS — the housing resists sunlight and physical impact in exposed locations.
