Product Overview

The Atlona AT-OME-EX-RX is an HDBaseT receiver engineered for 4K/UHD HDMI and USB extension over category cable in commercial conference rooms, huddle spaces, and video conferencing environments. Part of the Omega Series, it receives video up to 4K/60 Hz with 4:2:0 chroma subsampling, plus audio, control, Ethernet, and USB 2.0 over distances up to 330 feet (100 meters) using CAT6/6a/7 cable. The AT-OME-EX-RX includes two USB Type-A ports for peripherals such as cameras, soundbars, and interactive displays, completing the end-to-end 4K HDBaseT receiver solution for USB video conferencing and presentation systems. It can locally power a paired Omega Series transmitter over HDBaseT or receive remote power from an Omega Series switcher, providing flexible deployment options for commercial AV integrations.

Product Description

Atlona Omega 4K UHD HDMI/USB-over-HDBaseT Receiver (330') - AT-OME-EX-RX

The Atlona AT-OME-EX-RX is a low-profile HDBaseT receiver that terminates a 4K/UHD HDMI, USB 2.0, Ethernet, RS-232, and IR extension link over a single CAT6/6a/7 cable run from a compatible Omega Series transmitter or switcher. The unit outputs HDMI 2.0 video with resolutions up to 4096x2160 at 60 Hz (4:2:0) and is HDCP 2.2 compliant throughout. Two USB Type-A peripheral ports provide local connectivity for cameras, soundbars, or touch displays, while the USB data is extended back to the host PC at the transmitter end at up to 120 Mbps. The AT-OME-EX-RX can operate in two power modes: it can be locally powered via an included AC power supply and deliver IEEE 802.3af PoE over HDBaseT to a connected Omega Series transmitter, or it can be remotely powered by an Omega Series switcher when operating as a pure endpoint. This dual-mode powering scheme offers significant installation flexibility for both simple two-device systems and centrally switched multi-room deployments. The integrated 10/100 Mbps Ethernet port provides IP pass-through from the transmitter location for networked AV control. RS-232, IR, and IP control signals received from the transmitter are available at the receiver for connection to downstream displays and devices. Front panel LED indicators confirm power and HDBaseT link integrity. The low-profile 1.02-inch chassis supports installation behind displays, above ceiling tiles, or within equipment enclosures. Field-updatable firmware via mini-USB ensures the device remains compatible with new Omega Series products and accessories. Surface mounting hardware and a universal AC power supply are included in the box.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Does the AT-OME-EX-RX include a power supply?
Yes. The AT-OME-EX-RX ships with a universal AC power supply (Input: 100–240 V AC, 50/60 Hz; Output: 48 V DC). When locally powered, it can deliver IEEE 802.3af PoE over the HDBaseT link to a paired Omega Series transmitter such as the AT-OME-EX-TX, eliminating the need for a separate power supply at the transmitter location.
Q: What USB devices can be connected to the AT-OME-EX-RX?
The two USB Type-A ports support USB 2.0 peripherals and USB 3.0 devices operating in USB 2.0 compatibility mode. Common deployments include USB cameras, soundbars, speakerphones, and touch-enabled displays. The maximum aggregate USB data rate over the HDBaseT link is 120 Mbps. Refer to Atlona's Omega USB Peripheral Compatibility List for tested device recommendations.
Q: Can the AT-OME-EX-RX be powered remotely without using the included power supply?
Yes. When integrated with an Omega Series matrix switcher such as the AT-OME-PS62, the AT-OME-EX-RX can receive PoE power over the HDBaseT link from the switcher, allowing fully rack-powered deployment without local power at the receiver end.
Q: What cable type is required for the full 330-foot (100-meter) 4K range?
CAT6, CAT6a, or CAT7 cable is required for 4K/UHD at 330 feet. CAT5e supports 4K/UHD to 295 feet (90 meters). Shielded twisted pair cable is recommended for commercial installations to maintain signal integrity in environments with high electromagnetic interference.
Q: Is the AT-OME-EX-RX compatible with touch-enabled displays?
Yes. The USB extension capability of the AT-OME-EX-RX supports USB HID devices including touch displays. A touch-enabled display connected to the USB ports at the receiver can provide interactive control back to a PC connected at the transmitter end, enabling remote PC interaction at a meeting display.
Q: Which Atlona transmitters are compatible with the AT-OME-EX-RX?
The AT-OME-EX-RX is compatible with the AT-OME-EX-TX and other Omega Series transmitters and switchers with HDBaseT outputs. It is not compatible with the Atlona HDVS-300 system for USB extension. For full compatibility information, consult the product documentation at creationnetworks.net.
Q: Does the AT-OME-EX-RX pass HDCP 2.2 protected content?
Yes. The AT-OME-EX-RX is HDCP 2.2 compliant. Protected content streams can pass through the HDBaseT link provided the connected transmitter or switcher is also HDCP 2.2 compliant and the display supports HDCP 2.2.
