Product Overview
The Atlas Sound P77-8 is an 8" polystyrene plastic mounting ring engineered for retrofit speaker installations in ceilings with limited above-ceiling access. Its unique breakslot design allows the ring to be installed from ground level by snapping it apart, inserting it through a 12" ceiling cutout, and reassembling it above the ceiling surface. Four J-nuts are included for securing compatible 8" speaker baffles.
Product Description
The Atlas Sound P77-8 is specifically designed to solve the challenge of mounting 8" speaker baffles in retrofit scenarios where above-ceiling access is unavailable or impractical. The polystyrene plastic construction combines light weight with adequate rigidity for stable, long-term baffle support. Installation is performed entirely from ground level: the installer cuts a 12" (305mm) diameter hole in the ceiling, snaps the ring at its breakslot to flex it through the opening, then positions and locks it above the ceiling surface. The four included J-nuts provide the hardware for attaching compatible baffles and assemblies. Compatible baffles include the 51-8, 60-8(W), 61-8W, 62-8, 63-8, 170-8, M222(W), and P900 — covering a wide range of AtlasIED 8" speaker products used in commercial and institutional AV systems. The P77-8's retrofit-first design makes it a practical default choice for remodel, tenant improvement, and upgrade projects where structural ceiling access is not available. TAA compliance makes it appropriate for qualifying institutional and government projects. The 60-month warranty provides five years of coverage from the date of purchase.
