Product Overview
The AtlasIED IP108-D-EDU-CS is a school announcement control system built on the GLOBALCOM.EDU mass communication platform for K-12 districts and higher-education campuses. It serves as the head-end controller for campus-wide paging, bell scheduling, two-way intercom, and emergency notification, transporting eight channels of Dante network audio over existing IT infrastructure. School IT directors and AV integrators specify this controller for school PA system installation where prioritized announcements, VoIP phone integration, and centralized scheduling must run on a single managed network.
Product Description
The IP108-D-EDU-CS Announcement Control System (ACS) is the heart of AtlasIED's GLOBALCOM.EDU communication platform designed specifically for educational institutions. It manages the flow of live, delayed, and prerecorded announcements between network endpoints — digital communication stations, zone controllers, network power amplifiers, and IP speakers — while gatewaying VoIP telephone systems, analog audio sources, and external I/O devices into the ecosystem.

The built-in scheduling system creates bell and announcement profiles for the academic calendar, and the controller stores up to 250 hours of prerecorded .wav messages in any language. Text-to-speech messages can be generated in place of recordings using the default TTS engine or optional multilingual engines — useful for districts serving multilingual communities. The message engine supports up to 65,565 priority levels with NeverMISS capability, so lockdown and emergency notifications always override routine paging.
For campus intercom system integration, the controller manages two-way full-duplex intercom connections and zone or zone-group mute actions. The built-in VoIP interface connects to telephone systems via SIP and PBX trunking with G.711 and G.722 codec support, and standard third-party FXO gateways are also supported, so front-office staff can page from existing handsets. LDAP and Active Directory support lets IT teams manage user authentication with existing directory services. Announcements can be initiated by contact closure, paging stations, open-standard IP network commands, or the VoIP interface, and eight logic inputs, eight relay outputs, and two balanced background-music inputs handle external hardware. The platform scales to thousands of audio and video output zones across local or wide area networks. Pair it with endpoints and network amplifiers from the AtlasIED collection at Creation Networks for a complete district deployment.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between the IP108-D-EDU-CS and the IP108-D-CS?
The EDU model runs the GLOBALCOM.EDU platform tailored for educational institutions, with bell scheduling, classroom intercom workflows, and district-oriented features, while sharing the same eight-channel Dante hardware foundation.
Can teachers and office staff page from existing phones?
Yes. The built-in VoIP interface supports SIP and PBX trunking plus third-party FXO gateways, so pages and intercom calls can be initiated from the district's existing telephone system.
Does it support multilingual announcements?
Yes. Prerecorded messages can be stored and managed in any language, and optional multilingual text-to-speech engines can generate announcements on the fly.
How does the system handle emergency notifications during normal paging?
The NeverMISS priority engine supports up to 65,565 priority levels, so lockdown or emergency messages automatically override routine announcements and bells.
Will it integrate with our district's Active Directory?
Yes. LDAP and Active Directory are supported, allowing IT teams to manage GLOBALCOM.EDU users through existing directory services.
How is the system configured after installation?
GCK application software ships preinstalled, and configuration of zones, schedules, and priorities is performed through a browser-based interface.
