Product Overview
The AtlasIED AZMP8 Atmosphere is an 8-zone audio processor with amplifier, combining zone DSP and a 1200-watt power-sharing amplifier in a single chassis that serves as the heart of an Atmosphere zone audio system. It is built for commercial background music and paging system deployments — restaurants, schools, offices, retail, and worship facilities — where one device must process, route, amplify, and schedule audio across up to eight zones. With an on-board web interface, built-in Wi-Fi, and plug-and-play wall accessories, the AZMP8 reduces both rack space and programming time on multi-zone commercial audio installation projects.
Product Description
The AZMP8 pairs zone processing with amplifier power-sharing technology: the amplifier delivers 1200W of total output, and each channel is software assignable anywhere from 5W to 600W. That flexibility lets integrators match power to each zone's actual load instead of overdesigning around fixed per-channel ratings. DSP features include a built-in message player, bell scheduler, room combine and groups, learning ambient noise sensing with auto noise compensation, Tilter Filter, auto-gain, loud noise detection, GPIO, and a full sound masking configuration suite with SHS outputs over CAT5 (up to 100W per channel over CAT5).

Four accessory ports support up to 16 plug-and-play Atmosphere controllers and sensors, plus up to four audio accessories (one per port) such as remote audio wall plates or a zone paging station, with each port rated for reliable runs up to 1000 feet — no separate control wiring infrastructure required. App-less virtual wall controllers are distributed by QR code or URL, so staff can adjust zone volume and sources from a phone without installing software. Programming happens through a modern on-board web interface built on Progressive Web App technology; it is device agnostic and responsive, and the built-in Wi-Fi can act as an access point or join an existing network so tablets connect directly to the processor. For integrated AV systems, control modules are available for Crestron, Extron, AMX, and RTI, and a high-priority GPI input ties the system to fire alarm or life-safety muting. A large library of AtlasIED speaker presets, system self test, and accessory self-heal simplify commissioning and long-term service. Pair the AZMP8 with AtlasIED loudspeakers and wall controllers from our AtlasIED collection to complete a school bell scheduler deployment, restaurant audio zone controller system, or office sound masking installation.
Key Features
- 1200W Power-Sharing Amplifier — Total output is distributed across zones with each channel software assignable from 5W to 600W, eliminating amplifier overdesign.
- 8-Zone Processing — Independent zone routing, level control, room combine, and grouping serve divisible and multi-room facilities from one unit.
- Built-In Message Player and Bell Scheduler — Scheduled announcements and bells run natively, a direct fit for schools, manufacturing, and retail operations.
- Sound Masking Suite — Full masking configuration tools with SHS outputs over CAT5 (max 100W/ch) support open-office privacy programs without extra hardware.
- Ambient Noise Compensation — Learning noise sensing with auto-gain keeps paging and music intelligible as room noise changes throughout the day.
- Four Accessory Ports, 1000ft Reach — Up to 16 plug-and-play controllers and sensors plus audio wall plates or a paging station connect over standard cabling.
- App-less Virtual Wall Controllers — QR code or URL access gives staff zone control from any phone or tablet with no app installation.
- Web-Based Programming with Built-In Wi-Fi — The on-board Progressive Web App interface configures the system from any device, over Ethernet or direct Wi-Fi.
- Third-Party Control Modules — Ready-made modules for Crestron, Extron, AMX, and RTI integrate the AZMP8 into larger control systems.
- High-Priority GPI Input — Direct alarm-system integration mutes audio for life-safety events.
- System Self Test and Accessory Self-Heal — Built-in diagnostics shorten commissioning and reduce service calls.
- Mono, Stereo, and Subwoofer Support — Output flexibility plus a large AtlasIED speaker preset library speeds tuning.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the AZMP8 need separate amplifiers?
No for most zones. The built-in 1200W power-sharing amplifier assigns 5W to 600W per channel in software, so a single chassis powers all eight zones in typical background music and paging designs.
How do wall controllers connect?
Atmosphere accessories are plug-and-play across four accessory ports, supporting up to 16 controllers and sensors plus up to four audio accessories (one per port, wall plate or paging station), with each port reliable up to 1000 feet of cable.
Can it integrate with Crestron or other control systems?
Yes. AtlasIED provides ready-made control modules for Crestron, Extron, AMX, and RTI, and the processor also exposes third-party control over the network.
Is special software required to program the AZMP8?
No. Configuration uses the on-board web interface built on Progressive Web App technology, accessible from any browser over Ethernet or the unit's built-in Wi-Fi.
Can the AZMP8 run scheduled bells and messages?
Yes. A built-in bell scheduler and message player handle scheduled tones and announcements natively, which suits schools, manufacturing floors, and retail facilities.
Does it support sound masking?
Yes. The AZMP8 includes a full sound masking configuration suite with SHS outputs over CAT5 at up to 100W per channel, allowing speech privacy zones alongside music and paging.
How does it tie into a fire alarm system?
A high-priority GPI input integrates with the alarm system so audio mutes automatically during life-safety events.
