Product Overview

The AtlasIED ASP-MG24 is a sound masking processor and speaker controller designed for speech privacy systems in open offices, government spaces, and commercial meeting environments. The 1RU unit combines four independent masking generators with a 4-output DSP matrix, so a complete 4-zone sound masking system can be configured alongside paging and background music from a single processor. It also doubles as a loudspeaker processor for popular AtlasIED speaker systems, giving integrators two functions in one rack space.

Product Description

The ASP-MG24 is configured through an intuitive setup GUI as a 2-input, 4-masking-generator by 4-output DSP. Four internal inputs are tied to independent white/pink noise generators with adjustable ramp-up, allowing occupants to acclimate gradually as masking levels rise — an important detail for sound masking installation in occupied office space. Two additional mic or line inputs let paging and music sources blend with the masking signals to any of the four outputs, so one processor covers speech privacy, overhead paging, and background music distribution.

AtlasIED ASP-MG24 sound masking processor and speaker controller

Each of the four generator outputs has a dedicated 1/3-octave filter set for tuning the masking spectrum to the space, while the two mic/line inputs carry 8-band parametric EQ blocks with dynamic control including leveling, compression, limiting, and soft-gating for paging. Any mix of all six inputs can be matrixed to the four output DSP blocks, which add parametric EQ, delay with distance/delay calculation, and limiting. For speaker control duty, the unit can be configured in 2-input by 4-output mode for stereo full range, or full range plus subwoofer operation with AtlasIED FAP ceiling speakers, SM series surface mount speakers, or AH series stadium horns, with complete control of crossover types, equalization, delay, and dynamics. Thirty non-volatile memory presets store and recall settings, the front panel has no manual controls to prevent tampering, and remote control is available via USB, RS-232, Ethernet, or an accessory control panel — no USB-to-serial adapter required. A UL-listed international voltage power supply is included. Pair it with ceiling speakers from the AtlasIED collection at Creation Networks for a complete speech privacy system.

Key Features

  • Four Independent Masking Generators — White/pink noise sources with adjustable ramp-up let occupants acclimate gradually to masking levels across four zones.
  • 1/3-Octave Masking Filters — Dedicated filter sets on each generator output tune the masking spectrum precisely to the acoustics of each zone.
  • Paging and Music Integration — Two mic/line inputs with 8-band parametric EQ and dynamics blend page and music sources into any output.
  • Full Matrix Routing — Any mix of all six inputs routes to four output DSP blocks with parametric EQ, delay, and limiting.
  • Speaker Controller Mode — Configurable as a 2x4 loudspeaker processor with crossovers for AtlasIED FAP, SM series, and AH series speakers.
  • Thirty Memory Presets — Non-volatile preset storage recalls complete system configurations instantly.
  • Tamper-Resistant Design — No front panel controls, so masking settings stay locked after commissioning.
  • Multiple Control Interfaces — USB, RS-232, Ethernet, and accessory control panel options simplify integration with building control systems.
  • UL-Listed Power Supply — Includes a marked, ULC/UL-listed external international voltage power supply.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many sound masking zones can the ASP-MG24 control?

Four. Each of the four outputs has its own independent masking generator and 1/3-octave filter set, so each zone can be tuned separately for its acoustics and occupancy.

Can paging and background music run through the same processor?

Yes. Two mic/line inputs accept page or music sources, which can be mixed with the masking signals and routed to any of the four outputs, eliminating the need for a separate paging mixer in many designs.

Can it be used as a standalone loudspeaker processor?

Yes. In 2-input by 4-output mode it functions as a speaker controller with crossover, EQ, delay, and dynamics for AtlasIED FAP ceiling speakers, SM surface mount speakers, and AH stadium horns.

How is the unit programmed and controlled?

Included programming software connects over USB or RS-232 with no USB-to-serial adapter needed, and remote control is also available via Ethernet or an accessory control panel. Settings live in 30 non-volatile presets.

Why does it ramp the masking level up slowly?

The adjustable ramp-up raises masking levels gradually so building occupants acclimate without noticing the change — standard best practice when commissioning sound masking in occupied commercial space.

What warranty applies?

AtlasIED lists a 36-month warranty from the date of purchase on the ASP-MG24, and Creation Networks provides support for system design and post-sale questions.
