Product Overview
The Ashly MA500.4 is a four-channel multi-mode power amplifier delivering 500W per channel at 2, 4, and 8 ohms and 70V/100V constant-voltage operation, offering the same per-channel power as the MA500.8 in a four-zone configuration. Each channel independently switches between low-impedance and constant-voltage modes, making this rack-mount amplifier well suited for commercial AV installations where high-power zone flexibility is required from a compact, single-amplifier solution. With 2,000W total output and Ashly's D-MAX Class D efficiency, the MA500.4 is designed for demanding commercial installations including auditoriums, houses of worship, and multi-zone performance venues.
Product Description
The Ashly MA500.4 puts 500W per channel across four independent zones into a single 2RU rack-mount chassis, each channel independently configurable for low-impedance (2, 4, or 8 ohm) or constant-voltage (25V, 70V, or 100V) speaker loads. This per-channel mode switching lets a single MA500.4 simultaneously drive low-Z main speakers in one zone and 70V distributed ceiling speakers in another, without requiring additional amplifiers. Ashly's D-MAX technology provides high-efficiency Class D performance with low heat output, and the SailFlow Directed fan cooling system manages thermal conditions under sustained high-output use. The Advanced Intelligent Power-Sharing system dynamically allocates available power across the four channels, ensuring consistent output when zones have varying demand. Input and output wiring uses removable Euroblock connectors for reliable, service-friendly installation in professional racks. A switchable 80Hz HPF and clip limiter on each channel protect speaker drivers from low-frequency overload and amplifier distortion. Channel pairs can be bridged where a zone requires higher single-channel output, effectively doubling power to critical areas such as main fills or subwoofer feeds. Front-panel volume knobs and a Power Standby switch provide local control, and both can be locked via a rear-panel security switch. Remote Standby with selectable polarity allows integration with building control or AV automation systems. Comprehensive LED indicators monitor signal, peak/mute, temperature, protect, power, current, bridging, and power-sharing status. Dual-voltage operation (120V AC / 230V AC) supports international commercial installation deployments.
Key Features
- 4 x 500W Multi-Mode Output — Each channel delivers 500W at 2, 4, or 8 ohms and at 70V/100V, with 300W at 25V, covering all standard commercial speaker load types.
- Per-Channel Impedance Switching — Each channel independently selects between Low Z and Hi Z (25V/70V/100V), enabling mixed-system zones on a single amplifier.
- D-MAX Class D Technology — Ashly's proprietary amplifier stage delivers high efficiency and reduced thermal output versus conventional linear amplifier designs.
- Advanced Intelligent Power-Sharing — Dynamically distributes the total power budget across all four channels for consistent output under varying load conditions.
- Channel Bridging — Adjacent channel pairs can be bridged for applications requiring maximum output from a single zone.
- SailFlow Directed Fan Cooling — Directed fan cooling manages chassis temperature under sustained high-output commercial installation use.
- Removable Euroblock Connectors — Input and output connections use removable Euroblock terminals for reliable wiring and future serviceability.
- 80Hz HPF and Clip Limiter Per Channel — Switchable speaker protection on each channel guards against low-frequency overload and amplifier clipping.
- Remote Standby Port — Selectable-polarity remote standby input integrates with external control and automation systems.
- Remote Volume Control Ports — Per-channel VC ports accommodate wall-panel or third-party control-system volume adjustment.
- Front-Panel Security Lock — Rear-panel switch prevents unauthorized adjustment of volume knobs and Power Standby.
- Dual-Voltage Operation — Accepts 120V AC and 230V AC for domestic and international commercial deployment.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What is the difference between the MA500.4 and the MA500.8?
- Both models deliver 500W per channel using identical D-MAX technology. The MA500.4 provides four channels (2,000W total) and the MA500.8 provides eight channels (4,000W total). Choose the MA500.4 when four independent zones are sufficient.
- Can the MA500.4 be used for 70V distributed speaker systems?
- Yes. All four channels support 70V and 100V constant-voltage operation at 500W per channel, making the MA500.4 fully compatible with 70V transformer-tapped distributed audio systems.
- Does the MA500.4 support channel bridging?
- Yes. Adjacent channel pairs can be bridged on the MA500.4, combining two channels for higher output where a single zone requires maximum power, such as a main fill or subwoofer application.
- Is there a remote standby input on the MA500.4?
- Yes. The MA500.4 includes a Remote Standby port with selectable polarity, allowing external control systems or building automation to manage amplifier power state.
- Does the MA500.4 include DSP or network connectivity?
- No. The MA500.4 is a pure power amplifier. DSP processing and network connectivity can be added upstream using Ashly products such as the AQZ32 or FX series amplifiers with built-in DSP.
