Product Overview

The Adder ALDV104T-US is the AdderLink DV104 digital AV transmitter, a high performance HDMI splitter-extender that distributes uncompressed HD video and audio to up to four displays over single CATx cables at distances up to 50 meters. With two HDMI inputs and four link outputs, this 2x4 HD digital matrix lets integrators locate playout hardware in a secure, temperature-controlled room while screens at the display points show every frame without loss. Proof of Display monitoring over IP makes it a dependable choice for managed digital signage and commercial AV distribution.

Product Description

The AdderLink DV104T accepts two HDMI sources and feeds four line-powered receivers (ALDV120R or ALDV100R, sold separately) over standard CATx cabling, carrying video, eight channels of HDMI audio, and receiver power on a single cable per display. The uncompressed video system transmits every frame intact at resolutions up to 1920x1200 @ 60Hz (WUXGA) with 24-bit color, including 1080p, 720p, and 480p sources.

Proof of Display (P.O.D.) sets the DV104T apart in managed installations: the unit verifies that video is present from the player, that display cables are attached, and that each monitor is powered on, and exposes that status through an IP socket for remote diagnostics or integration with content management systems. Source failover can automatically switch to the second HDMI input if the primary stream fails, keeping screens live without intervention. An API is provided for third-party control, and the web interface is protected by HTTP digest authentication (RFC 2617).

Because receivers draw power over the CATx link, no power supplies or outlets are needed at the displays — cutting installation cost behind wall-mounted screens. Intelligent EDID management passes the true characteristics of each monitor back to the source, and the unit ships in a zero-config plug-and-play state with no drivers or software required. The compact metal chassis measures 115 x 114 x 26 mm; the US model includes a US power lead. Find compatible receivers and accessories in the Adder Technology collection at Creation Networks.

Key Features

  • 2x4 HD Digital Matrix — Two HDMI inputs and four CATx link outputs distribute and split dual-head or redundant sources to four displays.
  • Uncompressed HD Video — Every frame is sent without loss at up to 1920x1200 @ 60Hz with 24-bit color, including 1080p, 720p, and 480p.
  • 50m Over a Single CATx Cable — Video, audio, and receiver power travel together on one cable per display run.
  • Proof of Display via IP — Confirms source video, cable connection, and monitor power state, with status available over an IP socket for remote diagnostics.
  • Source Failover — Automatically switches to the second HDMI input if the primary video stream fails.
  • Line-Powered Receivers — Receivers need no local power supplies and use a fraction of the power of competing systems.
  • Eight-Channel HDMI Audio — Delivers 16/20/24-bit audio at sample rates from 32kHz up to 192kHz.
  • API and Secure Web Interface — Third-party control API included; web access protected by HTTP digest authentication.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need receivers with the ALDV104T-US?
Yes. The transmitter pairs with AdderLink ALDV120R or ALDV100R receivers (sold separately), one per display, which are powered over the CATx link with no local power supplies.

What cable should I run for full 50m distance?
Single unbroken runs of CAT7a or shielded CAT6a reach 50m. Each patch or break reduces distance by about 5m; patch cables over 2m should be CAT7a.

Does the unit support HDCP-protected content?
No. The HDMI interface does not support HDCP, so sources must output non-HDCP content such as signage players and PCs.

How does Proof of Display work?
The transmitter detects whether video is present from the player, whether display cables are attached, and whether each monitor is on, and reports status through an IP socket for remote diagnostics or CMS integration.

Can it switch sources automatically?
Yes. With source failover enabled, the unit monitors the primary input and switches to the second HDMI input automatically if the primary stream fails.

Is any software required for installation?
No. The DV104T ships in a zero-config plug-and-play state; an API is provided if you want control-system or CMS integration.
