The Adder SFP-CATX-MR-10G is a multirate 1/2.5/5/10GbE SFP+ copper module that carries high-speed 10 Gigabit Ethernet communication over Cat 6a or Cat 7 cable. This 10GBASE-T SFP+ transceiver gives Adder KVM-over-IP installations a copper alternative to fiber when existing CATx structured cabling is already in place. Fiber is not always available where an SFP+ port needs to connect. The SFP-CATX-MR-10G solves this by terminating an SFP+ cage to an RJ45 copper interface, allowing Adder equipment with SFP+ slots to link over the Cat 6a/Cat 7 cabling already run through a building.

The transceiver is compliant with the SFP+ Multi-Source Agreement (MSA) and with the 10GBASE-T, 5GBASE-T, 2.5GBASE-T, and 1000BASE-T standards specified in IEEE 802.3an, 802.3ab, and 802.3au, so it behaves predictably alongside standards-based switching and KVM endpoints.
