Choosing a panel

IPS holds colour accuracy across viewing angles, which matters when two people look at one screen or the monitor sits off to the side. Most of the professional S-series uses it.

VA delivers deeper blacks and higher contrast, and is common on the curved and higher-refresh models. The trade is colour shift when viewed off-axis.

For general office work either is fine. For design, review or anything where colour decisions get made, specify IPS.

Ultrawide instead of dual screens

A 34-inch 21:9 at 3440x1440 gives roughly the working area of two 24-inch monitors with no bezel down the middle, one cable and one stand. For anyone working across documents and a reference window simultaneously, it is usually the better buy.

The 21:9 models at 24, 27 and 32 inch cover the same idea at desk-friendly sizes.

Stand and ergonomics matter more than spec

HAS — height-adjustable stand — appears in several model names and is the difference between a monitor someone can work at comfortably and one they cannot. Tilt-only stands are cheaper and fine for secondary screens or anywhere a VESA arm will be used instead.

For a deployment of any size, confirm the stand type before ordering. Replacing stands afterwards costs more than specifying them correctly.

Connectivity

The S40GD models include a USB hub and DisplayPort alongside HDMI, which simplifies a docked laptop setup. Where the monitor is the dock, check the power delivery rating against the laptop before committing.
