4:3 and specialty formats

NTSC 4:3 remains the right choice where a room shows archived content authored at that ratio, where a document camera or older data source is in regular use, or where an existing screen is being replaced like for like and the wall opening is already cut. For new rooms running video and modern conferencing, the widescreen formats match the projector better.

Surfaces and accessories

Screen surfaces are the specification that decides image quality more than frame style does — matte white for controlled light and wide seating, grey for rooms where ambient light cannot be eliminated, acoustically transparent where loudspeakers sit behind the screen. Mounting hardware, brackets and trim complete an installation and are worth ordering with the screen rather than discovering during install.

Not finding the format you need

The main Da-Lite ranges are split by aspect ratio and mounting method — fixed frame in 16:9 and 16:10, ultrawide 21:9, electric ceiling-recessed, and Parallax ambient light rejecting surfaces. If the room is still in drawings, the format decision should follow the projector and the seating layout rather than the wall.
