These are the parts that stop an install

New-construction rings go in before the ceiling closes. Channel support rails carry a speaker's weight on the structure rather than the tile. Tile bridges spread load across a T-bar grid so a speaker does not sag a ceiling panel over time. None of them carry the speaker's part number, and all of them are discovered missing on the day.

Pull the ceiling type and construction phase off the drawings and the hardware list writes itself. Retrofit rings exist, but they are a different part from the new-construction version and cost more labour to fit.

Match the ring to the speaker family

Rough-in rings are model-specific — an FAP62-TR fits the FAP62T and nothing else. Confirm the exact speaker model before ordering, including the size, because a 6-inch and 8-inch ring are different part numbers in the same series.

Grilles and trim

Square and round grilles in perforated and recessed styles finish the installation and are ordered separately from the speaker. Colour and style are an architectural decision — worth confirming with the designer rather than defaulting to white.
