Product Overview
The Atlas Sound FAMT-6 is a mounting adapter plate that allows a 6" Strategy I cone speaker or APF Series re-entrant horn to be installed in a standard 8" enclosure or baffle. It expands the 6" speaker bolt hole pattern to match the 8" speaker pattern, enabling retrofit installations and system upgrades where an 8" opening already exists. The FAMT-6 is BAA and TAA compliant and UL Listed (UL 1480).
Product Description
When upgrading or retrofitting an existing 8" speaker opening to accept a 6" Strategy I speaker or APF horn, the FAMT-6 provides the mechanical interface that makes the installation possible without modifying the enclosure or baffle. The adapter plate is 8 1/2" in diameter and 5/16" deep, giving it a low-profile that does not significantly affect the overall installation depth. It replaces the discontinued VPA-APF adapter, providing a current-production solution for installers working on older systems or specifying new installations where 6" speakers are the preferred choice but 8" openings are already in place. The UL 1480 safety listing confirms the plate is suitable for use in certified in-ceiling loudspeaker installations. BAA and TAA compliance documentation supports government and institutional procurement. The FAMT-6 includes documentation for use with vandal-proof baffles in the AtlasIED lineup, and a dedicated install sheet is available for reference during installation.
