Connecting over a standard RJ45 Ethernet cable, it receives both audio signal and power via PoE (802.3at, 30W max without the STNet Switch II; 40W max with STNet Switch II), eliminating separate amplifier racks, speaker wire runs, and complex wiring infrastructure in AV-over-IP installations.

The IPD-SM52-EZ houses a 5.25-inch polypropylene cone woofer with a butyl rubber surround and a 1-inch soft dome tweeter in a ported high-impact polystyrene enclosure, delivering 55 Hz–20 kHz (±10 dB) frequency response and a maximum SPL of 97 dB at 1m. Coverage measures 91 degrees horizontal by 120 degrees vertical, suitable for conference rooms, classrooms, and retail spaces where wall-mounted point-source audio is preferred. What is Dante and do I need special infrastructure?

Dante is Audinate's industry-standard audio-over-IP protocol used by thousands of commercial AV products. The IPD-SM52-EZ requires a standard Gigabit Ethernet switch; for full 40W power output, the SoundTube STNet Switch II is recommended over standard PoE+ switches.

Is the IPD-SM52-EZ compatible with PoE++ (802.3bt) switches?

No — SoundTube IPD speakers are NOT compatible with PoE++. Use standard PoE (802.3at) switches for 30W, or the STNet Switch II for the full 40W amplifier rating.

Can multiple IPD-SM52-EZ speakers receive the same audio stream?

Yes. Dante supports multicast audio, so any number of speakers can receive the same channel simultaneously without additional infrastructure. Dante Controller software manages routing from a PC.

Does the speaker support stereo output?

The IPD-SM52-EZ is a single-channel (mono) speaker. For stereo applications, install two units — one per channel — and route left and right Dante channels independently.

What is included in the box?
