Product Overview
The Soundcraft Vi7000 is a professional large-format digital live sound console delivering simultaneous mixing of up to 128 inputs and 32 mono/stereo busses for touring, broadcast, and large venue production. Built on the Vistonics touchscreen interface with FaderGlow illuminated faders, the Vi7000 digital mixing console offers optional 96kHz processing, 40-bit floating point DSP, and 8 independent Lexicon multi-FX units in a compact control surface paired with modular Local Rack hardware. For engineers requiring a scalable FOH console with extensive Dante, MADI, and multi-protocol I/O expansion, the Vi7000 is the flagship of the Vi Series line.
Product Description
The Vi7000 partners a redesigned control surface with a new Local Rack and Active Breakout Box architecture, supporting up to 384 I/O channels through the stagebox expansion system. The Vistonics interface integrates rotary encoders and switches directly onto the touchscreen, eliminating the hand-eye coordination overhead of conventional flat-screen designs. Each Vistonics section controls 8 input channels via a touchscreen with 16 rotary encoders and 16 switches, providing immediate access to gain, delay, HP/LP filters, 4-band parametric EQ, compressor, limiter, gate, de-esser, and pan.
Sound quality is anchored by ultra-low noise mic amp designs. At 48kHz operation, latency from stagebox mic input to local line output measures under 2ms. An optional 96kHz mode is available with additional DSP cards installed at a reduced channel count. The console provides a 128-channel record interface through either MADI or Dante, supporting large-scale multitrack capture without external converters.
Processing capabilities include 16 instances of BSS DPR901ii Dynamic EQ, a BSS third-octave Graphic EQ on every bus output, and STUDER vMIX automated microphone mixing for up to 4 groups of 16 inputs — a critical feature for corporate events and multi-presenter panel discussions. The optional Soundcraft Realtime Rack adds Universal Audio UAD plug-in processing to individual channels, aux sends, and master busses within the console workflow. Connectivity options span Dante, MADI, Rocknet, EtherSound, and CobraNet.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What I/O protocols does the Vi7000 support for stagebox and network audio expansion?
- The Vi7000 supports Dante, MADI, Rocknet, EtherSound, and CobraNet through its ViSi Connect expansion slot system. The Local Rack hardware supports up to 384 I/O channels, accommodating the largest touring and installation audio systems.
- Is 96kHz operation standard on the Vi7000?
- No. The 96kHz sampling rate option requires additional DSP cards to be installed and operates at a reduced channel count. Standard operation runs at 48kHz with full 128-input capacity and 40-bit floating point processing.
- How does the Vi7000 handle automated microphone mixing for corporate events?
- The Vi7000 includes built-in STUDER vMIX processing, which manages up to 4 separate groups of 16 microphone channels simultaneously. It automatically reduces gain on inactive speakers while maintaining constant overall gain, responding faster than manual fader rides.
- Can the Vi7000 record multitrack audio directly from the console?
- Yes. The Vi7000 provides a 128-channel record interface output via MADI or Dante, allowing direct connection to compatible DAW systems or recording interfaces without additional A-D/D-A conversion hardware.
- What warranty applies to the Soundcraft Vi7000?
- The Vi7000 carries the HARMAN Professional Solutions warranty. Contact Creation Networks to confirm current warranty terms and coverage applicable to your purchase.
- Does the Vi7000 support remote control from a tablet or mobile device?
- Yes. The ViSi Remote iPad app provides remote access to channel EQ, dynamics, metering overview, and monitor levels over a standard Wi-Fi network, allowing engineers to adjust the mix from anywhere in the venue.
- How does the Vi7000 integrate with Universal Audio plug-ins?
- With the optional Soundcraft Realtime Rack accessory, engineers can insert UAD Powered Plug-Ins on individual channels, aux sends, and master busses. The snapshot system stores all UAD plug-in settings inside the console for full show recall.
