Product Overview
The Soundcraft Vi3000 is a large-format digital live sound console designed for touring productions, theatrical performances, and large-venue FOH applications. Featuring 36 faders, 24 mono/stereo busses, and four Vistonics II touchscreen interfaces, the Vi3000 digital mixing console supports dual-engineer operation — the only console in its class with that capability. Dante networking is included as standard, making the Vi3000 a strong choice for engineers requiring a digital audio networking console with flexible stagebox expansion.
Product Description
The Soundcraft Vi3000 combines an all-new control surface design with the well-established Vi Series workflow that live sound engineers have relied on for touring, broadcast, and large venue work. Four Vistonics II touchscreen interfaces give two engineers simultaneous access to channel functions, processing controls, and metering — without the workflow interruptions common on single-operator desks.
Rear panel connectivity includes a full complement of analog and digital I/O alongside MIDI, USB, Ethernet, DVI output, Dante/MADI record feed outputs, and a redundant power supply. Two expansion bays accept MADI Stagebox cards for connecting multiple Soundcraft Stagebox input expander modules, supporting large-scale multitrack recording and monitor drive applications. The Vi3000 is also compatible with the Soundcraft Realtime Rack — a hardware/software unit built in partnership with Universal Audio that provides access to 74 UAD plug-ins within the live mix environment.
Built-in processing includes BSS DPR901ii Dynamic EQ (8 instances), Lexicon reverb/delays, dbx compression, and STUDER vMIX automated microphone mixing for up to two groups of 16 inputs. FaderGlow illuminated faders display function-based color coding across all 36 faders. Snapshot and cue list management supports per-snapshot recall scope, MIDI/GPIO event triggering, and crossfade transitions between cues. The ViSi Remote iPad app allows remote control of EQ, dynamics, and mix levels from anywhere in the venue.
Key Features
- Four Vistonics II Touchscreen Interfaces — Enables dual-engineer operation; each interface controls 8 input channels with on-screen rotary encoders and switches for immediate parameter access.
- 36 Faders / 24 Mono-Stereo Busses — Full-scale fader layout with all busses convertible to stereo for 24-stereo mix capability.
- Dante Networking as Standard — Built-in Dante interface for digital audio networking with any Dante-enabled device; also supports MADI stagebox expansion via two expansion bays.
- BSS DPR901ii Dynamic EQ — 8 instances of the industry-standard dynamic equalizer available for insertion on any input or output channel alongside standard channel EQ.
- STUDER vMIX Automixing — Processes up to two separate groups of 16 inputs for automatic microphone mixing in corporate and multi-presenter applications.
- FaderGlow Illuminated Faders — Color-coded fader illumination changes based on function (VCA, aux, channel), reducing operational errors during complex shows.
- Soundcraft Realtime Rack Compatible — Optional UAD plug-in integration delivers 74 Universal Audio plug-ins directly within the console's workflow.
- VM2 Radio Mic Status Monitoring — Real-time battery life, RF status, and mute state monitoring for compatible Shure ULX-D, QLX-D, and AKG HiQnet wireless systems.
- Virtual Vi Offline Editor — Pre-program shows offline using the free Virtual Vi software and load sessions via USB, reducing on-site setup time.
- Redundant Power Supply — Internal redundant PSU provides power continuity for mission-critical live events and broadcast applications.
- ViSi Remote iPad App — Remote control of EQ, dynamics, and monitor levels from anywhere in the venue via the iOS app.
- 4 Aux Send Points Per Channel — Selectable pre-EQ, pre-compressor, pre-fade, or post-fade send points on a per-channel/per-bus basis for monitor engineering flexibility.
