Product Overview
The Shure KSM32/SL is a cardioid studio condenser microphone in a champagne studio finish, supplied with the A32SM shock mount and an aluminum carrying case. Built around transformerless Class A circuitry and a precision-tuned cardioid pattern, it delivers natural, accurate reproduction for professional recording, broadcast, and installed AV. As a large-diaphragm studio condenser microphone, it offers strong off-axis rejection and high-SPL headroom in a road-ready package.
Product Description
The KSM32/SL uses a precision-engineered 3/4-inch capsule with an embossed Mylar diaphragm for smooth, balanced response and low-frequency performance usually found in larger 1-inch capsules. Class A, transformerless preamplifier circuitry eliminates crossover distortion for improved linearity across the full frequency range, while the precisely tuned cardioid pattern delivers off-axis rejection up to 37 dB at 180 degrees to keep room reflections and adjacent sources out of the mix. A switchable 15 dB attenuator extends headroom for high sound pressure levels, and a switchable low-frequency filter manages proximity effect and rumble. The studio package adds the included A32SM shock mount and a protective aluminum case, supporting reliable deployment in broadcast studio, house of worship, and auditorium applications.
Key Features
- 3/4-Inch Embossed Diaphragm Capsule — The precision-engineered capsule delivers extended low-frequency performance and a natural, balanced response across the audio band.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the KSM32/SL need phantom power?
Yes. As a condenser microphone it requires 48V phantom power from a mixer, preamp, or audio interface.
What is included with the SL studio model?
The SL ships in a champagne finish with the A32SM shock mount and an aluminum carrying case for isolation and transport.
How does the SL differ from the CG?
The CG is the charcoal-gray stage model without the bundled studio accessories; the SL is the champagne studio model including the shock mount and case.
Is it suitable for installed AV and house of worship systems?
Yes. Its high off-axis rejection and switchable low-cut filter suit podiums, lecterns, and stage use in installed systems.
