The Shure A95U is a reversible line matching transformer that matches low or high-impedance microphones to low or high-impedance inputs. It terminates in a male XLR and a 1/4-inch male plug with a female jack, making it a flexible impedance-bridging tool for installed and portable AV. It is intended for integrators and technicians interfacing mixed microphone and input impedances.
Product Description
Connecting a low-impedance microphone to a high-impedance input (or the reverse) without a matching transformer leads to level loss and degraded high-frequency response, especially over longer cable runs. The A95U line matching transformer bridges these impedances in either direction, since it is reversible, so a technician can correct an impedance mismatch in the field with one part. Its male XLR and 1/4-inch connections suit a wide range of commercial AV, conference room, and live-sound interconnects. As a passive component it requires no power, simplifying integration into existing signal paths.
