The Shure A42SM is a ShureLock elastic-suspension shock mount for the KSM42 microphone that provides secure mounting and mechanical isolation. The open-cage rubber suspension floats the microphone to reject vibration and handling noise from stands and floors. As a KSM42 shock mount, it is the genuine Shure suspension for studio and broadcast voice capture.
Product Description
The A42SM is an open-cage ShureLock rubber suspension shock mount designed for the Shure KSM42 large dual-diaphragm condenser microphone. Its elastic suspension isolates the capsule from low-frequency vibration transmitted through the stand, preserving clean low end and intelligibility on close-mic vocals and narration. The open-cage design keeps the microphone visually unobstructed and pairs with the low-profile A42PF Popper Stopper magnetic pop filter to set a natural distance between talker and capsule. For studios, broadcast facilities, and AV teams, it delivers repeatable, professional isolation in a durable, commercial-grade assembly. Replacement elastic bands are available separately as the A42OR, so the mount can be serviced rather than replaced as the suspension wears.
