Product Overview

The Shure 920D W-V is a large-room conference audio bundle built around two MXA920 ceiling array microphones in white, a 16-channel IntelliMix Room software DSP license, and four MXN5W-C networked ceiling loudspeakers. It is engineered for AV integrators covering large boardrooms, multi-purpose rooms, and divisible spaces where a single ceiling array cannot reach every seat. The dual-array design delivers Automatic Coverage pickup, software-based conferencing processing, and Dante audio networking in one procurement line. This is a ceiling microphone solution that keeps the table and walls clear of hardware.

Product Description

This Microflex ecosystem bundle pairs two MXA920 ceiling array microphones with Shure IntelliMix Room, a software DSP (16-channel license) that runs on the room compute and handles acoustic echo cancellation, noise reduction, automatic mixing, and automatic gain control across both arrays. Each MXA920 uses over 100 MEMS elements and Automatic Coverage technology to capture talkers without aiming pickup lobes, while Virtual Acoustic Boundary keeps noise outside the defined coverage areas out of the mix. The four MXN5W-C loudspeakers provide PoE-powered, Dante-networked reinforcement that mounts cleanly into drop-ceiling environments, with included tile bridges for commercial deployment over standard ceiling grids. Two arrays plus a 16-channel processing license make this configuration suited to large conference room, auditorium, and divisible multi-purpose room AV integration. Every networked device connects over a single PoE infrastructure and is configured in Shure Designer software. The solution supports Microsoft Teams, Zoom Rooms, and Cisco conferencing platforms.

Key Features

  • Dual MXA920 Ceiling Arrays — Two white MXA920 ceiling array microphones extend coverage across large or divisible rooms that a single array cannot serve.
  • Automatic Coverage Technology — Each array defines up to eight coverage areas and captures talkers automatically without aiming pickup lobes, with each MXA920 pre-configured to cover a 30 by 30 foot area.
  • Virtual Acoustic Boundary — Voices and noise outside the defined coverage areas are excluded from the mix, improving intelligibility in busy commercial spaces.
  • 16-Channel IntelliMix Room DSP — The included IMX-RM16-SUB5 license provides acoustic echo cancellation, noise reduction, automatic mixing, and gain control in software across both arrays.
  • MXN5W-C Networked Loudspeakers — Four coaxial 5.25-inch ceiling loudspeakers with integrated PoE amplifiers cover the room and mount into most drop-ceiling installations with a removable, paintable grille.
  • Steerable Coverage Option — Automatic Coverage can be turned off in favor of Steerable Coverage with eight aimable lobes and individual outputs for voice-lift and zoned sound reinforcement.
  • Single PoE Infrastructure — Microphones and loudspeakers operate over Power over Ethernet with Dante audio networking, simplifying cabling for commercial deployment.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does this bundle use two microphones? The 920D pairs two MXA920 arrays to cover large or divisible rooms where a single ceiling array cannot reach every seat. The 16-channel IntelliMix Room license processes both arrays together.

Does it require a separate hardware DSP? No. The 920D uses IntelliMix Room software DSP (IMX-RM16-SUB5) running on the room compute. For a single-array hardware-DSP option, see the 920Q bundle.

How is coverage configured? Each MXA920 supports Automatic Coverage with up to eight definable areas and no lobe aiming, or Steerable Coverage with eight aimable lobes for voice lift and zoned reinforcement, all set in Shure Designer.

What conferencing platforms does it support? The MXA920 is suited to AV conferencing on Microsoft Teams, Zoom Rooms, and Cisco platforms, as well as camera tracking and sound reinforcement.

What comparable bundles are available? Comparable single-array configurations include the Shure 920Q W-V bundle and the linear-array Shure 714M AL-V bundle.
