Product Description
The Planar Corning UNICAM LC terminal is a field-termination connector component for building single mode fiber links in Planar video and control distribution systems. Each single pack contains one LC terminal with its ferrule, boot, trigger, and fiber cover, providing the parts needed to terminate one fiber strand. The terminal is matched to OS2 9/125um single mode cable, the fiber type used for long-distance, low-loss signal runs in larger installations. Termination is performed using the separate Corning termination kit (541-0139-xx), which provides the tooling for the UNICAM process. Because a duplex cable carries two fibers at each end, four terminals are required to fully terminate one duplex cable across both ends. This approach lets integrators create custom-length, field-terminated fiber runs rather than relying solely on pre-made assemblies.
