Product Overview
The Panamax MOD-UTP5E is a modular Ethernet surge protection module for MaxMOD-compatible Panamax base units, providing gigabit-capable (10/100/1000 BASE-T) transient suppression on a single CAT5e UTP network line. It is designed for AV rack environments where network-connected components share power management hardware and require signal line protection on their data connections.
Product Description
The MOD-UTP5E plugs into the modular expansion bay of a compatible Panamax MaxMOD base unit, extending signal protection to Ethernet network lines connected to AV processors, smart home controllers, media servers, or other rack-mounted network equipment. All 8 pins of the RJ-45 connection are protected using differential and common-ground suppression modes. Clamping is set at 62 ± 6V across all pins to ground, and the module is CAT5E compliant and rated for 10/100/1000 BASE-T Gigabit Ethernet as well as Token Ring and AppleTalk. Panamax MOD modules can be stacked on a base unit to cover multiple network lines as needed. Note: signal line modules do not carry their own Connected Equipment Protection Policy, but do not invalidate the policy of a properly installed base unit. Available at Creation Networks.
